Despite everything awesome that happened last night, I will confess the first thing I thought when the msnbc said PBO won was, "I wonder what Michelle'll wear at the Inauguration parties."

^ me too .. and then I saw that burgundy dress from hell and was like damn. I hate burgundy so much, especially the shiny kind. But obviously that silhouette still worked on her and she looked smashing with all the energy. And the way Obama talked about her..

The little girl also looked adorable. The older one looks happier in pictures than in motion, when I saw her on TV I got the impression that she hated the idea of being stuck at the White House for another 4 years.

So thrilled that we'll have four more years of awesome Michelle moments (from her style and otherwise). She looked really lovely last night, that's a great color on her. And Wild Roses, I confess that after I was done jumping up and down and hugging my mom, my first thought went to that as well. I hope she wears another stunner like that Jason Wu gown from four years ago.

I am thrilled too, and I also find the repeats charming  It causes so much comment, but hey, that is what real people do ;)

And best of all ... 4 more Oscar-free years

I'm sure you guys noticed the pix of various First Ladies of the past during the past couple months of US fashion magazines. I was struck by just how dowdy he made the last two look. No wonder Michelle is allergic ... she is most definitely not a woman who wants someone to dress her in anything drearily 'appropriate' ... instead, she has redefined what appropriate means. And I am all for that ...

Holy smokes, Michelle manages to make that gown look amazing! Personally I've never been a massive fan of gold dresses like this one but it just works on her. From what I can tell (without seeing a full length image of the dress) she wears it better then the model.
