Michelle Obama Supports Cult Danish Brand Stine Goya In Copenhagen

Michelle Obama's Becoming book tour has become a platform on which to showcase the personal style she has honing since waving goodbye to the sartorial restrictions of the White House. Remember those sparkly Balenciaga boots? For the first leg of her second European tour, Obama wore a pink crystal-covered Stine Goya suit. The tailoring was a custom version of the sky-blue Iris blazer and Marcel trouser set that the cult Danish brand created for Net-a-Porter (yours for £1,410).

“For us, Michelle represents everything we strive to represent through our collections – strength, intelligence, independence, confidence,” creative director Stine Goya commented on the bespoke commission for Obama's talk at Copenhagen's Royal Arena. “Her role as an activist, mother, writer shows the multiplicity of the female spirit – we are so honoured to have been considered to work with Obama for the European/Scandinavian tour.”

Promoting her memoir, Becoming – which is on track to become the best-selling memoir of all time – Obama spoke to celebrity chef and talk show host Rachael Ray in front of a packed crowd. Her book, which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, details her life before living in the White House, falling in love with Barack and struggling to conceive her two daughters, Malia and Sasha.

Before the event kicked off, Obama shared a behind-the-scenes snap on Instagram Stories, showing her having fun with her team.
