Miley Cyrus Causes "Scandal" With Vanity Fair Shoot

The problem I have with this is that if she were a guy they'd probably have him in a space suit or standing by a bike or whatever, hand under chin, looking cheesy and suave. Because it's a young teeny bopper female they have her half-naked with a sheet. I don't think that Vanity Fair sexed up her image in anyway considering what we've seen of her before I'm just disappointed Anne chose such a typical route. (Remember when you were edgy and not just swimming in the stream Leib? Yeesh.)

The parents knew exactly what they were doing.

i agree with annie l. any day, she didnt try to make the pics sexual in any way and besides miley does that for herself anyways when she on the redcarpet, the snapshots of her and ex-bf, so annie L. really didnt do anything and besides Disney saying that Vanity Fair exploits a 15 year old? Disney is just using her for money, ticket sales, ratings, etc.

I think they're blowing it out of proportion and making it into something it's not. It's not p*rn*gr*ph*c or "titillating" to me whatsoever. I actually think it's more reminiscent of a draped model for a painting than a girl getting out of bed after sex. Maybe it's her goofy face and how young she is but the pic doesn't really seem sexual to me at all. Kinda reminds me of those "draped model" photos from early photography when they were trying to mimic paintings. Except of course much less beautiful with Miley's corny grin.

On the one hand it's true that no one would bink an eye lid if it were an Evan Rachel Wood type 15 yo but then again if you make your billions but trying to market yourself as the most wholesome idol ever, complete with Britney Spears style chastity promises then something like this is always going to raise eye brows.

I think they're sultry, and semi suggestive with sheets clasped to her body and hair touselled, though not p*rn*gr*ph*c at all. It's not something my very liberal parents would have been happy with me doing at 15.

Yea, I think her "homemade" web photos are hella sl*tty without a doubt. No matter the age, posting pics of yourself on the Internets in your underwear is never going to be anything but sl*tty. And true about the point that the only reason it might be a big deal is because she's marketed as such a chaste little lamb. I still think the VF ones are fine though. Minus the creepy dad part.

i honestly don't see the big deal. perhaps it is because sometimes i forget how old she actually is, but asides from her looking a bit dirty (as in not washed, not sl*tty) i did not find her photo as scandalous as her personal photos, really. there is so much unnecessary hype around this, but bad press is still press. she's going to be so huge, it's scary.

I havent seen the whole photoshoot...lets suppose she has done a risque topless shot. SO WHAT?! Just because she plays a character on TV doesnt mean she has to live up to that in her personal life.

Stop giving a B grade (at best) actress more due than she is worth.

The other day on the View, Whoopi commented that Annie uses a digital camera to take her photos, and shows the model the progress. So Miley would have known exactly what the photos looked like almost immediately after they were taken. She obviously just didn't think it would create the furore that it has. And from the candid photos taken on the set, she doesn't look awkward, uncomfortable or as though she is being forced into something she doesn't want to do. Her saying that she was shocked when she saw the photos is obviously just spin. IMO if she had said that she loved the photoshoot and stood by it and the team behind it, she'd have risked losing her way lucrative Disney contract and who can blame her for not wanting that. I hate that Annie is being made to seem like a child molester who forced Miley to be topless. Miley should be defending her.

I find the creepiest thing is that she talks about her virginity vow in front of her dad...
