Miu Miu Resort 2015 : Natalie Westling by Jamie Hawkesworth

Jamie's use of color is so good, and i love his nostalgic mood and how theres always something off about it. I love that Miu Miu is taking more of an artistic approach like how they do with their videos.

This is really beautiful. I love how awkward it is, it shows off the quirkiness of the clothes and Natalie's features. Not to mention, the composition and the use of colors is just flawless.

I love it! The outdoor shots really send this over the edge. The colors complement the clothes really well and the destruction in those shots is a nice contrast to the clothes. Great campaign.

One of my favorite Miu Miu collections in a long time and I love Jamie but the model and the way they made her pose and the whole concept around her image is just off for me, it doesn't resonate at all with the inspiration, I'm so over the ultra pale, straight out of mental hospital styling and posing like you're too tired for anything and that alone conveys 'etherealness', what a cliché, the collection deserved much better... thumbs down to whoever directed this.

Love the concept behind this, the abstract juxtapositions, the daze Natalie Westling seems to be in, the fact that Miuccia decided to use a model for a Miu Miu campaign, Jamie Hawkesworth's done a fantastic job.

They should tap Jamie for their Spring campaign as well.

Beautiful campaign. Natalie really works for this collection and I love Hawkesworth's work!

IMO, Without the Image and Logo On the left the campaign just looks like a plain ole lookbook. :ermm:

Funny how members were bashing Joan in the recent Vogue Japan and Chanel resort ad threads, when these are just as lifeless. Shame since the collection felt fresh and youthful when it was shown in Paris.

I find myself focusing more on the nature shots than the clothes. Good idea, bad execution.

The difference is that the model is supposed to look lifeless.

^ and it is really unflattering, i like natalie but..this is just off

shame because the collection was beautiful

The first image with the bare tree is the strongest - everthing is perfect and frash, The rest of them bring it down in my opinion.
I think fashion houses try maybe make a campaign of just one photo...It;s risky cause you don't show enough merchandise, but think about just one image that wull be iconic and synonymous with that particular collection. I think the need to shoot so and so images and show variety of outfits make some magic go lost. I know it;s an industrie standard, but who if not Prada can break the mold?!

I can actually agree with you there because with the right direction, you can capture the mood for an entire collection in one shot. But I think we are dealing with a new type of consumer. Not only is the concept of brand devotion slowly fading, but the attention span of consumers are terribly short and they mainly lack attention to detail. Nobody will go 'Ok, there's one campaign shot and I dont like it, but perhaps there's more to the collection than this one look?'. They'll just jump onto another brand and that will hurt sales. A one-shot campaign will also place too much pressure on the magazine or digital outlet to reflect the collection thoroughly, and that's not fair. I think we are stuck in a rut with fashion advertising at the moment. The majority of the campaigns are very point-and-shoot and blatant to reflect the clothes above all, rather than telling a story of the woman wearing it. And because this recipe is effective(eg: it's selling) I dont imagine we'll see a change anytime soon.
