i feel like i am going to get a lot of backlash for posting this but can any one explain why all the models are made to look like young boys and there is a constant presence of a man, standing at the back of the runway the entire time watching the procession...

please space your pics before posting them, this is too messy ..
which season is this collection from? ss06?
let us know please

It's 2001. But anyway's I happen to like it. I don't think any guy in america would wear the short shorts but this colletion was put together nicely. I don't why the man is standing in the backround but I sure it's not for a sexual reason.

i don't know, the looks are obviously naive, young boys clothes, note how everything is tucked in, from pants in socks, to jackets into pants, but really why is the man in the back???

Well much of fashion exists for a sexual reason. I agree; it looks strange...

And what about Hedi who adores rock bands and young rockers?

And anyway.. what about very young girl models sometimes 13een?

Fashion is a fresh fresh world... right?

don't get me started with hedi!!! i thought i was alone on that one!

If I remember right, this guy was reading a book during the show.

nice try, but there is no book in sight...If you don't trust me go to firstview and look through the whole show...

the version of this guy reading something sounds more like it.. :ninja:

why dont you start a 'exploiting youth' thread?
it could fit either here or in trendspotting forum

i had to edit the topic concidering tFS's 'achived collections' policy

Miuccia Prada herself played subtly with schoolboy looks in her Miu Miu line — not least in the shoes, when classic British Church's brogues (Prada bought the company) were given a sports sole. An actor, pretending to read fortune-cookie mottoes, intoned: "The shoes tell you more about the person than what they actually say."

But Miu Miu's clothes also spoke of the new dress-up: brief jackets over tailored shorts, knee-high socks and brogues; a white shirt open at the front, looking crisp rather than louche; jackets tucked into pants (an echo of Japanese designers in the 1980s); color added to a graphic neutral palette with bright webbed belts round the hips. Prada called her collection "low profile." But it was witty and pretty smart.

this sucks, i was hoping for a reason to hate prada, "back in line everyone"...

some wearable pieces here and there....im sure they are of good quality.. this does seem ok for 2001.. anyway back on topic.. hmm yes it is rather weird.. but on the other hand.. one of my interpretations could be an older man looking back at youth.. to a point when he is almost jealous of these young boys.. but by looking closer i must say that it looks a lot like having a perv at these young boys to me.. just look closer at his facial expressions..
that aside.. what the hell is a whole heap of ferrero rochers all about? what he wants to lure the boys with chocolate? or a way to kill time.. eating chocolate and having a perv...

this is just my opinion people..i dont want any crazy backlash...

it's the first time i see this collection, and some of the pieces like the shorts can really be hit this season SS06, miuccia was/is really amazing. and i don't know why but i like the styling of this show too...miuccia's design is timeless

Definately portraying pederasty...anyone read Thomas Mann's "Death in Venice".....and you'll get it :(
