Model skin & body care tips / products

hey id just like to share my thoughts on cetaphil because its been mentioned so much throughout this thread.

Cetaphil is a great cleanser, i use it myself, but it will not cure acne or stop blemishes from appearing. It cleans your skin and leaves the surface really smooth.
Most models have naturally great skin so they use cetaphil to keep it clean and healthy. If you dont have no-so-great skin its not going to suddenly clear up your skin, i recomend that you should get something a little stronger. But hey what would i know. Im no proffesional, its just my opinion.^_^

NOpe, thats more than an opinion, your absolutley right. I am a huge product junkie and would love to put my beliefs into one little bottle of some miracle lotion potion , however thats just not how it goes.
My mum ( who has been a make-up artist for 24 years) uses crealine as well as cetaphil cleanser on actors all the time, but she also gives them heavy duty toner, and even sometime has to pop their zits cause very few people have perfect skin (jessica stam often has pretty nasty break outs) .
So just drink some water , take a deep breath, DON'T PICK ! and keep with a skin care regime that makes you feel good but don't break down if you don't wake up with a cystal clearcomplexion. . . . . . cause hey then we wouldn't use that excellent concealer you bought last week :D

^_^

I actually think it depends. Most dermatologists recommend cetaphil b/c it works very well with prescription acne meds. It is very very important when using strong topical acne medication that your cleanser be INCREDIBLY gentle - otherwise your skin will be stripped dry and will go crazy.

For me personally, Cetaphil in conjunction with Retin-A and glycolic peels keeps my skin clearer than ever before (and I do not naturally have clear skin - at all!). Now, for example, if I was using Neutrogena's benzoyl peroxide face wash with Retin-A and glycolic peels, my face would go nuts because of all of the harsh chemicals.

Does anyone know what these Berocca vitamin tablets we keep hearing about are? <3 thank you!

you gotta live in new zealand or australia to know what those are hahahah i think you could get it on line, there pretty good, i need to stock up actually

I've been using lemon juice on my skin every second day this week and I'm pretty pleased with the results. My skin seems firmer. Sadly hasn't effected my blackheads though.

Berocca is available in Sweden also, so I'm sure there are more countires than New Zealand and Australia that knows about them.

That's the best advice ever. I don't have zits or anything but i pick on the blackheads and i make small wounds all the time, because i'm stupid. I have a perfectly clear complexion, i take the mirror, i pick on the blackheads that no one can see and then boom 2-3 marks on my pre-perfect complexion. How stupid am i!?

And the best part, even though i know that i do it, i keep doing it.

here in austria you can also buy them. i used them a time ago .. but they're just normal vitamine-tablets ... so i don't really think they'll do anything good for your skin?!
but maybe just try ^_^

You aren't alone, I do that too.... pretty dumb.

Another tip from model Regina Feoktistova-"When my skin needs purifying, I use my mother's mask recipe. Warm a cupful of milk, mix in the juice of half a lemon, a tablespoon of Greek yoghurt, and an egg white. Apply to the skin for ten minutes."

"When I fly I take Chantecaille Pure Rosewater to keep my skin hydrated." -Magdalena Frackowiak.

^ You've got those beauty tips from the August Vogue UK magazine haven't you?

They came from there, but I came upon them on paullabrecque.com as they're (this salon/spa PL) featured in the same issue so I jsut transfered from there. ^_^

From an interview with Raquel Zimmermann

What are your favorite beauty products?

I like the face creme from La Mer, and I carry Eucerin Aquaphor's lip balm with me everywhere in my makeup bag -- all the models I know use it, and it's easy to purchase at various drug stores.

I'm sorry you can't see the left edge of the article clearly , but it was too big for my scanner...

This is my first attachment so I hope it works. ^_^

you're welcome :flower:

I have an article about Twiggy, it's from her latest book, but I think she writes more about what to wear and stuff... I'll dig out something interesting about her beauty tips from there and I'll post it if it is wanted

Doesn't La Mer cream have mineral oil in it? I've been using a sample of Weleda's almond cream and it's a bit greasy but hasn't made my skin break out and has excellent ingredients. You can get it at Target in the natural skincare section - there's tons of amazing samples there, too.
