Muse #20 : Lindsay Lohan by Yu Tsai, Abbey Lee by Kadel & Claudia S by Jonas Bresnan

What do you see? A cleaned-up professional? And "That's just a photoshoot"? Yeah, right... Everybody knows it reflects what her life is today. Here's an extract from her Sunday Times article:
"The room looks like the aftermath of one of those home-alone teen parties advertised on Facebook that then gets horribly out of hand. Chaos rules. Designer clothes are strewn everywhere; most of them from a sweep of the Emanuel Ungaro boutique that Lohan made upon her arrival in Paris, walking away with an estimated £90,000 worth of free clothes. Shoes, make-up, jewellery, even a stray lampshade obscure the hotel carpet. Her passport is in here somewhere. She’s been looking for it for days."

Still just for photoshoots... ?

It's right by your foot there,Lindsay.Like, right in front of you.

It's quite interesting to hear from Lindsay's super fans (not specifically here, I'm talking in general) raving about these pictures of a young girl looking wretched beyond her years and obviously exploited (even if the shoot was her idea, it's not like she is making cool decisions while sober these days) and saying they love her and support her.
If they did, they would feel sorry and worry for her, not applaud her all the way down. Imo, that kind of 'fans' are no better than the parasites and enablers who surround her.

Well said.
I like Linsday and exactly because I like her it pains me to see these photos.
A girl exploited, that's all I see in this ed.And the fact that she was probably led to believe that what she was doing was "art" or "cool" makes the whole thing even more sad

That's exactly what I was thinking and I was about to write it. It's almost disrespectful to appreciate seeing Lindsay in that kind of ed. Those pics are just degrading imo.
I think people who criticize her, and don't like her won't change their mind about her after seeing this. And it's understandable.

She may not lead the healthiest life style and I wish she'd clean up and get better, but at the end of the day, this isn't real.
The problem is, while these particular pictures aren't real, they very much reflect the reality of her life.

She sports the same phased out, dazed stare in her candids, we've seen her behaving less than dignified, the crowds she runs with (the night-clubbing demi-monde of Euro-trash and L.A. fame-w****s) is notorious for hard partying, substance abuse and promiscuity. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least one candid (a picture of her scissoring in public some Italian dude she'd just met) that could have been an outtake of this shoot. The one The Frenchy posted fits right in too.
Frankly, they could have called the shoot: '24h in the life of Lindsay Lohan' and claimed it was a photo-reportage done during fashion week and no one would have blinked.

Ofcourse you don't have to like her, but just slagging her off for the sake of it is not necessary.
Constructed criticism is not slagging. Please.

What would have been a little bit artistic would have been getting Lindsay to re-enact religious scenes from iconic paintings - there would be plenty of opportunity for people to rave about the lighting in a scene where Lindsay is the Virgin Mary having a vision, and a shot of her as naked as Eve would fulfil the requirement for her to get her t*ts out, while passing as a commentary on the corruption of someone's morals. No, instead we get another dreary gang-bang.

If she wants to reboost her acting career, she needs to be versatile in her image to show that she can portrait a character. Not do an ed about what seems to be her everyday life. Like other posts said, we have already seen her flashing a boob or looking trashy in candids multiple times, so nothing new here. Who wants to take her seriously after seeing this ed?

There are so many other directions she could have gone if she wanted to be "iconic", reenact someone or do something erotic albeit chic : Catherine Deneuve in Belle de jour like Kate Winslet did, Charlotte Rampling in her iconic Helmut Newton shots, Nastassja Kinski shot by Avedon with the boa...
All these images are elegant and timeless, but Lindsay couldn't channel that if she tried to because, well, the bottom line is that she has zero class. Just look at the Marylin pictures she did with Stern.

So Marilyn had zero class as well?

^^ KateisGr8, would you mind explaining to me how you came up with that "conclusion" after FrenchCactus' comment because I really don't get it?

I just dont understand why MUSE would do this. Are they purposely trying to alienate their longtime fan base? Are they that desperate for new readers??

WHY?!?!?

I love Lindsay and I firmly believe that 90% of the naysayers of this ed are just biased against Lindsay. The photos are edgy and they're beautiful and yeah, Lindsay looks a bit haggard. But so what? That looks suits these photos and She's still killing it. She always does.

Marilyn had more class in her little finger that Lindsay will ever have...
Lindsay trying to re-create such legendary people such as Marilyn and Kate is just pathetic and painful... Marilyn and Kate were effortlessly cool, gorgeous, and charismatic... Lindsay represents none of those qualities however hard she tries...:innocent:

^Yeah, I'm sure there's a bunch of editorials, but I guess nobody has got this yet, so no review.

they would totally make up for the lackluster cover and editorial.
