You prudes. I'm not afraid to accept that if I could be in her shoes I wouldn't hesitate. Who wouldn't want to be beautiful and rich? and talented? of course those are not the most important things in life but they are really nice things.

Frankly, I am not annoyed by Lindsay. I admire her beauty, and contrary to the other worthless skanks people fan over like paris hilton and kim k, Lindsay actually WORKS, and had a career before the whole drug mess and I have no doubt she'll regain it at some point.

They were basically identical shoots, but for some reason, when Marilyn did it, might I add- by the same photographer, it was "classy" but when Lindsay does it, it isn't. Sorry, but let's face it, Lindsay is like the Marilyn of our day. She's controversial, ever-changing, and interesting. I know so many people will say not to compare the two, but obviously I'm not the only one since there have been several editorials with Lindsay as Marilyn. I don't think this photoshoot was, at all, trying to be like the Kate & Johnny photo because that's just one shot and this is several shots which look nothing like it. Lindsay wasn't trying to be Kate in this shoot, the photographer was simply inspired. But, basically, I'm not going to dislike Lohan just because everyone else does. For me, she's a MUSE and an icon. I think she will be around for a very long time and shock the hell out of everyone when she gets her sh*t together and makes incredible movies.

What would have been a little bit artistic would have been getting Lindsay to re-enact religious scenes from iconic paintings - there would be plenty of opportunity for people to rave about the lighting in a scene where Lindsay is the Virgin Mary having a vision, and a shot of her as naked as Eve would fulfil the requirement for her to get her t*ts out, while passing as a commentary on the corruption of someone's morals. No, instead we get another dreary gang-bang.

! I couldn't agree more! If people think this lighting is fantastic, imagine how GORGEOUS the lighting would be of Lindsay portraying the Virgin Mary from one of Jan van Eyck's infamous paintings. She could puff on her ubiquitous cigarette while swaddling the Christ Child just to make the image more current! And instead of being held by (or held down by, however you look at it ) some bony man, she could instead be holding the bony man and instantly become the Madonna from Michelangelo's Pieta. I mean, she has the deathly white palor down pat. The only thing she has to do is throw on a custom Ungaro powder blue glittery robe with matching pasties and she is set!

I basically agree with everything you said. But Marilyn isn't all that amazing to begin with. She slept around with multiple men, ***please see tFS community rules***, and yet people are calling her classy and glamorous. YES, she was cute. YES, she is an icon. But their actions aren't extremely far apart except that Lindsay is still alive. I hate when people compare Marilyn to the likes of Audrey Hepburn or what-not. Yeah, they're both icons, but they're nothing alike. Lindsay and Marilyn on the other hand...

Also, her sexual life has been greatly exaggerated, yes she was a sex goddess but she most certainly wasn't a nymphomaniac or anything of the sort, and she was quite faithful when married.

They're clearly trying to reach another kind of 'readers', flyingace said in page 5 (?) that their entire staff has changed.. I honestly think they could've quit with a bit of dignity like Mixte did early this year, it's so sad seeing this turn into this.. I knew the Natasha Poly issue was already a not so positive sign.. but Lindsay!.. it kind of taints the memory of what Muse used to be.

The video just confirms everything I've so far thought of this cover ed and Lindsay being part of it. Where's the class, the good taste? There is such a thing as tasteful nudity, but this muddy, lazy and hazy depiction of hedonism isn't it. The self-pride and arrogance that this magazine exudes in this issue is untolerable. This is just shameless, and borderline men's magazine material. I thought the cover read Muse, not Maxim.

On another note, you can certainly argue that there are lifestyle similarities between Lindsay and Marilyn and that Marilyn has just as little class as Lindz lol, but in fact their respective Stern shoots alone showcase just how very different they are. Marilyn had certain liveliness in her demeanor, this spark, and undeniable charisma. "Haggard" is not an adjective I've heard associated with her, certainly not in connection with a photoshoot, and whether her decade would've allowed such public promiscuity or not, I don't recall her gang-banging in public (whilst getting paid) either.

And anyway, even if we did come to the conclusion here that Marilyn and Lindsay are in fact only inches apart, that hardly makes this shoot any more tasteful, does it? Because the question isn't, 'is Lindsay as classy as Marilyn,' but rather is 'Marilyn as classless as Lindsay.'

Oh well. Those who love it, let them love.
