Naomi Campbell Reveals a Supermodel Reunion is in the Works!

The original supers are uniting, and it feels so good!
In an appearance on CBS This Morning to promote her new season of The Face, supermodel coach Naomi Campbell caused waves of excitement throughout our office by hinting at a secret project that she says will reunite her with some of her fellow original supermodels—i.e. Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Stephanie Seymour, Claudia Schiffer and Kate Moss— in a few weeks.
“We’re working with each other in a few weeks, which is like a big reunion when it happens, ” said Naomi. Though she wouldn’t reveal why they were reuniting or where, she did say it would be taking place at ”a very nice, sunny, warm place on the water.”
When asked about her role as a supermodel, and how it has changed over the years, Naomi admit, “I came up with a great group of ladies, and I don’t think you’ll ever get a group of us like that together ever again. You may get one here, one there, one there, but as a whole, you’ll never get it again.”
Supermodel talk aside, Naomi did also reveal one other surprising career ambition. ”I would love to do Saturday Night Live,” she told Gayle King. ”I think sense of humor is the best thing in the world. To make fun of yourself. To be another character. And you can always say, ‘I was just acting. It wasn’t me.’”
While you can’t watch Naomi on SNL just yet (seriously, who do call to make that happen?), you can catch her every Wednesday night on The Face airing at 10/9c on Oxygen— don’t miss out!

Naomi Campbell Says 90s Supermodels Never Starved, Reveals Thoughts on Today’s Girls

Supermodel Naomi Campbell recently stopped by “The Breakfast” Club, a New York-based radio station where its host Charlemagne is known for not holding back when it comes to his interview questions. There to promote season 2 of her modeling competition series “The Face”, Naomi opened up about who she thinks are the top models today, whether she ever starved for the job and plastic surgery.
On whether 90s supermodels starved themselves:
“You know, I have Jamaican-Chinese heritage. I love my food. And no, I’ve never- you know I came [in the industry] with group of ladies. Linda, Cindy, Christy, Tatjana, Stephanie, and that just was not [it]. We were friends, we loved each other and we loved to go eat with each other. That was not a part of that era.”
On the crop of models now:
“I think everything has to evolve, it’s a business and times change. And I think that, I will say this- you will never get six or seven of us together like we were. That won’t ever happen. You’ve got Gisele, you got Joan Smalls, you got Jourdan Dunn and you’ve got these beautiful girls like Riley Montana that are coming up. And I support all of the young black models today. And that’s why Bethany and myself have been doing and speaking up for balance diversity in the business.”
On young girls feeling pressured to get surgery for modeling:
Listen, I have a scar. I had a scar on my upper right lip since I was three years old. And I mean, when I first came to New York, my agent said to me at the time we have to get that done and my mother said ‘No.’ And I’ve never had it done. And makeup will cover it and that’s the way it is. I think if you want to get plastic surgery for yourself personally, that’s up to you and do whatever makes you feel good. But to do it for a job? No.
I personally don’t want to go under the knife unless I really need to or unless it’s like some surgical emergency. But that’s just my opinion.

loving the funky 70s fro

basically, Naomi can rock (and has haha) just about ANY hairstyle that she wants.

the tight fro like that though just doesn't look natural. seems costumey. i DO think she would look utterly fabulous rocking the classic 80s Whitney fro. and i suspect you'll approve, omifan! ;)

Lol. Naomi's fro looked better in motion. However, I would absolutely love to see Naomi in that Whitney style (or anything Whitney had in 1994). Good choice because Whitney wore alot of styles with bangs which would work best for Naomi b/c its more natural looking. She should also wear more wavier/curl styles! Anyhow both are beautiful and amazing women.

HOT! Total vamp! Speaking of what we'd like to see...she should also wear red lipstick(or things that aren't so natural looking in tone), she never really does. She looks great in it:heart:.

Guys, I'm really loving Season 2 of 'The Face' so far! BTW...
@michelabella Thanks for the info. Sounds goods and as long as Christy and Linda are there with Naomi I'm happy lol.
@justaguy Thanks again for the work, cause scanning is a job lol. Very nice.

Ohhh my god Naomi is on the cover of shape magazine april 2014. Its a greatttt coverrr check it out !!!

Fierce. Fiesty. Fabulous. Those are just a few words to describe April cover star Naomi Campbell. At 43, the supermodel is still just as sought after in the fashion industry as ever before. And as she embarks on a new season as executive producer and co-star of The Face (essentially America’s Next Top Model 2.0), the star buckled down to chat about her struggles, success, and slim-body secrets.

If there’s one thing we learned from Campbell, it’s that her journey to superstardom wasn’t easy. She’s battled discrimination in the industry, saying that the color of her skin has been a challenge her entire career. “But I learned if you don’t accept no for an answer, you often get a yes.” Her achievement, of course, partially stems from her fit physique, which she owes to her clean eating and devout exercise routine.

While juicing is certainly a part of her diet, she does not deprive herself. “I don’t believe in starving myself. I’ve never done it, and I never will,” she says. “I’m even more active when I’m juicing, doing both yoga and Pilates every day.” Otherwise, her eating plan is as clean as it gets, kicking off with hot water and lemon plus an intense yoga session while including vegetable juices, herbal tea, and salads with fish or steak.

Still, every woman—supermodel or not—has her indulgences. For Campbell, it’s a chocolate bar in England called Galaxy that she says she can’t give up. Something she learned she could give up, though? Her decades-long addiction to smoking. “People told me that cigarettes are harder to quit than alcohol,” she says. “I didn’t believe it, but you know what? It is harder.” She still struggles to stay off the smokes with the help of a nicotine patch.

To stay fit and balanced, Campbell says she practices yoga for at least an hour most days of the week. But, like all of us, the model finds herself in need of a speedy routine when she can’t fit in a regular session. For her 10-minute workout routine, plus more on her favorite exercises and simple beauty advice, pick up the new issue of Shape
