I actually hate it. I haven't liked his newfound love of volume at all. The whole reason I love Narciso is because he cuts a razor sharp, skin tight dress that looks at once sexy as hell and very elegant and understated. This was boring and sub-par. Even the shoes sucked....out of all designers he does some of the best stilettos out there, why would he do those hideous little things? The one thing I liked was that lovely pale lilac color....but other then that it was a huge disappointment.

I think the shoes would've looked more appealing of the straps are thinner. That thick band in the toe area is particularly ugly.

I agree. The thick band looks rather soccer mom to me...

I particularly like this dress, along with a couple of others.

For the rest, nothing really appeals to me. I think a lot of the outfits have awkward shapes/cutouts/proportions.

Overall rating- 5/10

Very minimalist. I'd think he was just being lazy but the cuts of both mens and womens wear seem well tailored. A nice collection overall.

Too bare, minimal and boring, I'm suprisingly dissapointed by this collection. Some fabulous men's peices, however.

I love the lines, cuts... shapes. I would wear the dresses if they were longer or shorter.

I love it. So simple and clean. The shapes are really nice and the little details like his classic seaming and piecing make a statement (but understatedly so). ;)

Love the clean cuts and colours...reminds a bit of Calvin Klein dont´you think?

Very nice collection :flower:

Reminds me of a crossover between Calvin Klein and Roland Mouret.. Love RM but this is a bit blah imo

it's not painful and that's a huge compliment for a NYC show

the menswear is so boring and basic that i am yawning and going into a deep deep sleep

there is nothing good about it at all

I thought that was pretty strange too - and stranger still, was why they bashed it: "In a season that's shaping up to be about rich, hand-worked details, these pieces made one long for more, in the form of some full-length gowns equally embellished and luxe." Huh? Haven't "rich, hand-worked details" been the In thing for like the past three seasons already? Why bother to complain now?

Anyway, I just took a look at the entire collection on style.com and I have to say that taken on the whole, it is pretty repetitious, and a tad dull. But I still find its simplicity refreshing - sometimes you needing a break from all those "rich, hand-worked details."

Agree, I thought that review was quite odd. The complaints seemed to be a) spring was like resort (so what), b) she didn't like the minimalism (who said the season was about rich, hand-worked details, anyway??? Partway thru sucky NY, I'm not sure that conclusion is warranted), and c) it wasn't sexy enough. His has never been a Gucci sexy anyway, it is toned down a bit, but still there. Loved that cutout effect on Kim ...

And thank you, thank you, mb, for posting the shoe detail, I hadn't looked at the detail pix. Most especially love the suede, the navy suede. Who makes/carries these, anyone know? Please don't tell me they are one-off for the show ... :(
