Hi,

Sorry if this is not in the right place but i wasn't sure where to post. i searched with all the keywords i can think of for a thread on this but i couldnt find any.

I am looking for high res images of all the big designers so i can design the walls of my shop with. the images on the internet are all low res and turn to pixels when blown up. can someone tell me where i can get images either by referring me to a thread or website or even sending me any. no specific designer just the great ones in general. :flower:

thanks

there is a 'designers candids' thread at our designers & collections forum but i doubt if the pics posted are high resolution..

Hi, Ameera!
How big they should be? :magic:
Hope they are great enough

Here's an important piece of information, not generally known, but very important for you to understand about photos:

There are things called copyrights and usage rights which you pay for, so you may use images.

To just lift them from a site is and use them for financial gain is not a good idea ... which is what you would be doing if you displayed them at your business. It's copyright infringement and many people (especially the photographer) consider it theft.

You can buy images from stock photo companies like Getty and Corbis ... in various resolutions. That is the ethical and legal way to go which I'm sure is important to you. :flower:

love those pics you posted rasta

could you please add credits as in which publication those appeared since tFS has a policy of always crediting photo & article sources? thanks in advance and a warm welcome to tFS

RastaFashion, Thank you soooo much you are amazing!

BetteT, thank you for the info and i am well aware of that but i'm not using the pictures for business gain, im placing them in my own workshop that only me and my tailor go in for me to get inspired and work in a nice atmosphere. i can do it by just placing cutouts from magazines but i just wanted them all black and white for my own pleasure. and to be honest, i don't mind paying for them if i'm obliged to ^_^ !

Ahhh ... then I don't think it would be a problem at all, in your workshop ... for personal pleasure and inspiration. Obviously I misunderstood when you said "shop" ... I just assumed that it was a retail shop where you conducted your sales to the public. My mistake.

Hope you find what you need. :flower:

Best Sites for Backstage Beauty Photos

Hi there,
I'm wondering if anyone could recommend some sites that are good for backstage beauty images- I will need to purchase them for something I am publishing.
I have looked at Stardust and Fashionstock... does anyone have other suggestions?
Thank you

Well, Style.com usually has lots from the big shows, and FirstView maybe...?

From what I've read, ImaxTree offers many options for purchasing pictures. FirstView does also, as does Style.com.

I would definitely try out Lerage as well. They have some beautiful pictures for viewing <3

High Res Fashion Images/Scans

I'm currently studying my first year in fashion design and I have to do about 4/5 fashion related collages a week. Rather than forking out large amounts of cash to buy new magazines constantly, I have scanned magazines from libraries which has helped me to save money. I have been trying to find current fashion scans on the internet but it is very difficult to find some with a high resolution.

My computing teacher informs me that to obtain a good quality printed image you need at least a 300pi where as most images like on style.com they are only 72pi which is more suitable for web/computer work. (When you enlarge them to fit a A3 size page they become really pixelated and blurry.

Does anybody know of a good free source of fashion magazine scans or High resolution fashion scans/images ? (other than bwgreyscale)

Like a whole collection of them rather than having to look through thousands of pages of forum threads ^^
Thanks in advance !
