Also, have you gotten to look at the Derek Lam stuff yet? I'm wondering if it's worth me dropping by the trunk show this week.
Fashionista, I never thought of it like supporting an artist... that's an interesting way to think about it... Nicholas G is definitely an artist in my opinion.

EdK, I was told that the beetlejuice one was actually more expensive. I have not figured out the reason though.
Shalu, the jackets are all without lining, right? How did you feel when you put the jackets on? From what I can tell from the pictures, the material is quite thick and the cut is very structured. I was surprised that such a structured jacket doesn't have a lining.

The jackets weren't lined from what I recall but they still felt fine and sat great on the body... Seriously, when I tried the blazer I ordered on, it was like it was made for me!
Regarding the beetlejuice jacket, yea, I wouldn't be able to tell you why it's more money but a lot of the stuff was handpainted, handworked, etc. Like the dress I liked didn't look like it was $8700 at all... the SA was even like "wear it over jeans in the spring." LOL! I wish I could wear a $8700 dress over jeans to run errands! But the reason it was so expensive was b/c it was all handpainted apparently. Maybe the black lines on the beetlejuice jacket are painted on or maybe two pieces of fabric were used to create the stripes?

hey shalu i saw the derek lam stuff today, and trunk show starts tomorrow, and Derak himself will actually be at barneys to help. but besides that the clothes are ZzZZzzzZZzzzZ. ss 06 is a direct continuation of fw 05, i dont see any change its the same stuff. I think we received 85 pieces.

^it's 3000+. I forgot the exact price. I was going to ask for details, but the binder with details was on their back office for their trunk show meetings, so I have to call her back tomorrow or Sat. to get details.
geez 3,000+ for that beetlejuice blazer is not cool at all. thats like the most unpractical piece. plus when i saw it at the trunk show i didnt notice anything special about it. but then again, i didnt bother to look closely at details and such cuz i felt the black/white stripe was just bad. i was too busy looking at the white comme des garcons like pieces and the paisley pieces.

i love nocholas's work, but does anyone know how to start a thread???
for out next trunk show, ill try to take some pictures when they arrive, which is about a day or 2 before the day of the show. next is Lanvin. were getting 12 trunks of clothes
