Softgrey, thank you thank you thank you for the report!!!

Question ... what is this with not going into production? What's the point of showing stuff at a trunk show that won't go into production??? Does it mean that there's a chance anything could, if they get enough orders, or are they just *tantalizing* you?

Btw, I'm sure you've noticed, there's a ton of "bug" jewelry around ... I've been meaning to start a thread ...

it is very frustrating and apparently quite a number of people didn't place orders this season because their previous season orders were not able to be filled..

lanvin seems to be having some serious production issues...
and i mean SERIOUS...but they SAY that they have been resolved by now...
at least that's what barney's says...

i told you about the $2000 wholesale T that was cancelled...

there are various reasons why a company would have production problems...
i am not sure the reasons behind lanvin's ...

i can only imagine that hand cutting and sewing and tearing and washing and distressing, etc...
is all very time consuming and the hours that go into it can be overwhelming...
driving the cost through the roof and making some items virtually impossible to sell...
...
i also believe that the bug jewelry must be a fortune...
and i don't know that those fancy 'ladies who lunch' are really capable of pulling off such a strong statement...so i don't think they will sell many if any...

**much like the spider pin that viktor and rolf showed on the runway a couple seasons ago which i searched for high and lo and probably was never produced...

there is one bag that i liked...
i don't pay attention to the 'names' of bags...
i can barely remember the names of people......
but the one i like is the washed satin in blk with blk resin chain handles...
it's simple but interesting and fun...
a little sexy rock n roll chic....
which is just my style...

the dress i like is slvls...gathered in the front and plain in the back...
olive green cotton poplin...

saw proenza today and show starts tomorrow. the collection is ZzzZZZzzZZ. a lot of the pieces are a continuation from fw 05 like the blazers and the corsette type dresses. they also bought a few polos. wrinkle effect pants, linen pants.
