New York F/W 07.08 Schedule

quick question: I just realized that nyc fashion week is starting really early this season, why is that? i mean, last year it was still last week of feb, right? so that's a big jump.....

hope someone can answer! thanks.

Does anybody know why Luella doesnt show on this schedule?
is she back at london? or moved to other city to show?

no it wasnt, it was still the first week, but later, as the month of feb 2006 began earlier in the weekdays last year,
also the NY calender is set based on the dates of the milan and paris calendars (which are set first) with space left for london............
there is a discussion going on to change it altogether, as this coming september, it fall smack in the middle of the jewish holidays, which is something most people here cant have as there is a large jewish commmunity in the NY fashion scene.

well from what i herd, she is to be showing here, unless there is a significant change of whichi dont know ........
but this calendar is early, (yet better than the one at modemonline and firstview, which only has bryant park shows, and the bigwigs that arent showing there but seemingly too impotant (powerful) to be left off.
maybe she registered late and will be on the updated calendar........

ill keep you posted.

can someone tellme when jovovich hawk is presenting? thanks in advance!

i noticed that there are a LOT of people that aren't on the ny calendar this season...

from fashionweekdaily...stephen burrows cancelled his show...

Stephen Burrows may have expanded his brand by designing 25 matte jersey dresses boasting lower price points, but he won’t show them on a catwalk anytime soon. The designer sent out a fax late Wednesday informing members of the fashion press that his Fall 2007 show, originally scheduled for February 3 at 3:00 p.m., has been cancelled. “Thanks for all your requests for invitations to my show,” Burrows wrote. “I have decided to cancel the show due to time constraints; it’s just impossible to do as some of my goods won’t arrive on time.”

Instead, Burrows will host a press preview on February 4 at from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Due per Due, the manufacturing company making the S. by Burrows line. Inspired by Anna Cleveland, the daughter of his muse, Pat Cleveland, the color-blocked pieces with lettuce edging detail are offered in shifts, chemises, and demi fit dresses in shades of gray, mulberry, coco, and black.

thanks kimair
thats very nice of you.'

they listed my show as Zam Barrett Couture.
that used to be the name when the line was made to order.
After the SS06 season I dropped the couture from the name,
lowered the price points and started wholesaling the collection

the story about Burrows sucks though.
I am not "Colour Clanish" but i do think that the Black community is under-represented in the fashion industry (dont count the fake celebrity designers) So its unfortunate to hear this,
other than Tracy Reece, there is no black designer (God I hate that term)
that has a really successful company here in NY
