New York or London?

Eurotrash said:
kids from London are so "Oh. I just found a million pounds. Superb." Yes the drama in NY gets annoying but sometimes it's fun.

What can I say? It is the city of cool.

This is hard. I've been in London plenty of times and I love the way the city is. But on the other hand New York is a great city too.. So which one should I pick?

I think I'm saying London!

from NY MAG

If Paris was the capital of the nineteenth century and New York of the twentieth, London is shaping up to be the capital of the 21st.

read the New York VS. London issue from NY MAG, just by clicking here.

NYC, it has the style, the people and is the most beautiful city with great museums, stores and love the Rocafella Center.

I love NY too! I grew up just outside London and it's gone downhill since the late 90s.....

london, definitely. Much better music scene. London has a much cooler vibe, undergound scene.. i prefer the culture there

^

hahahahaha....still it matters on what you do in London as well as New York..

London! I think it feels easier to navigate, and I just like the atmosphere better.

If this was a 'London or Cairo?' thread or a 'London or Rome?' thread... I might have a tough time choosing. But New York is nothing to me. I mean Greenwich Village and stuff are fun for their Dylan/Springsteen references etc but the city feels so new. The depth and layers upon layers of a European city just is missing from all American cities. They have some appeal I am sure, but you can't challenge the richness of age. This is why I have no interest in going to Australia or South Africa. The new world does not have the romance and the power of Europe or Asia in my mind.

i couldn't agree more!!!!!!!!!! despite weather and lifestyle that everyone raves about i have little interest in Australia because the culture is so "modern" comared with Europe. I also love Russia and eastern europe - i love the feel of the old soviet empire in the cities. Asia has that richness too although i havent seen as much of it as i'd like. I can't wait to visit Japan- not only for Tokyo but also Kyoto for its ancient culture.

I don't know Hong Kong unfortunately Eurofashion! But the fact that China as a whole is the only country in the world that has been united (in terms of border changes etc) for so immensely long (since 251BC - far longer than any other nation) bodes well for it. Plus my best friend is Chinese and so I have always been in love with everything China!

I A-FRICKIN-DORE Russia also Kitten *swoons* And the fact that in my travels, the Eastern Europeans have been the most warm, welcoming, dignified and sophisticated people helps too. People always say the Russians are dour but if you get to know them, the are the most wonderful people. I have come across the most rudeness in America and also in certain SW European countries such as Portugal. But of course I may just have had bad experience.

I love the Soviet history too. Most people love the cool Parisien elegance of St Petersburg but I am a Moscow girl through and through! I also love Warsaw and leave Krakov to the touristy tourists.
