i don't want to think this is because of milan's disappointment (sauf prada, jil sander, fendi..) but all of a sudden everything i am seeing in paris looks just ravishing to me
speaking of this particular show, i have to say that i've loved all the collections he's done for the house and this is no exception! if people asked for a change last season, there you have it! i cant complain because i like both the old and the new!
until this moment there had always been a few common elements that defined the nina ricci girl/woman by olivier, and while a certain delicacy had always been present, i am glad it has gone away this time. I'm glad to see that the collection remains true to what he has been doing until now and that the key elements that make them look as a whole wasnt something as easy and spottable as the light romanticism (very trendy a couple of season ago, but already a bit passé now).
this season he has incorporated the 80s and he has done it in a fun way. including slight hints of shoulder-pads and neon would have seemed coward of him. a bold statement like this seems a lot more mature to me and a lot more daring.
in a few seasons the 80s will go and something new will appear... so why not just have fun and enjoy this for some time! it's carnival this season!
