Nina Ricci F/W 09.10 Paris

I like coats and jackets from the first half of collection, but everything else is ugly and it gets worse towards the end.

well in parts its really striking , and its definetly a big improvement from last season but overall some of the models look like Aliens from the movie Aliens with sourgney weaver and its quite creepy , but im kind of liking those ridiculous platform shoes , the likes which havent been seen since 1975 .

After seeing this collection as a whole, I did actually like it. Specially the gowns (except Tanya's).

shoes are hideous... but rest - very interesting...

pink minidress from post 118 looks just amazing!!!

The Cut

I have no idea how none of the models fell

Ugh, I can be such a queen, but I love those shoes.

i don't want to think this is because of milan's disappointment (sauf prada, jil sander, fendi..) but all of a sudden everything i am seeing in paris looks just ravishing to me

speaking of this particular show, i have to say that i've loved all the collections he's done for the house and this is no exception! if people asked for a change last season, there you have it! i cant complain because i like both the old and the new!
until this moment there had always been a few common elements that defined the nina ricci girl/woman by olivier, and while a certain delicacy had always been present, i am glad it has gone away this time. I'm glad to see that the collection remains true to what he has been doing until now and that the key elements that make them look as a whole wasnt something as easy and spottable as the light romanticism (very trendy a couple of season ago, but already a bit passé now).
this season he has incorporated the 80s and he has done it in a fun way. including slight hints of shoulder-pads and neon would have seemed coward of him. a bold statement like this seems a lot more mature to me and a lot more daring.
in a few seasons the 80s will go and something new will appear... so why not just have fun and enjoy this for some time! it's carnival this season!

i sort of hate the 80's but the razersharp shoulders here are gorgeous. some of the pieces are too much and over the top, especially for nina ricci.

Paris is officially on fire. The devils of imagination have been set loose.
I think this is stunning. A collection that stands for fantasy, imagination, wit..real editorial value too.

I saw someone say Dynasty with stripper shoes:lol:, there's definitely a lot of humour in it, I really really appreciate that.

And I must mention, the VERY first thing that came to my mind was, "Theysekens is going back to his roots..." Theyskens "before" wasn't Rochas, his very first collections were very gothic and very subverted. Latex bodysuits..the whole shabang.

:flower:

P.S. I must jump on the "love those shoes" train.

Well, prior to this I saw Balmain, so I knew it couldn't get any WORSE, anyway... I actually like the idea of those hats haha. The shoes are nice in concept (huge lace-up platforms) but i don't like them at all in this show.

I can't decide if its a yes or no in my book.

^^ i love the shoes from the front... the behind just left me thinking... too bad, they'll just end up chopping off the platform to get a "normal" shoe for the stores..

at the frist page I was like omg....what 's that?
But after watching the whole collection I think it's not bad...
And Olivier, Please dont leave Ricci, I've apply Ricci for my summer internship please let me work with you....lol
