Novak by McQueen

Have anyone seen the Novak new handbag by Alexander McQueen. The bag is named after 'Kim Novak', the actress best known for here role in 'Hitchcock's' 1958 film "Vertigo". The Novak cones in three sizes in leathers Croc skin and tweed. I love the brown croc features in Vogue UK,Aug issue. Here is the pic in red. What to you guys think of this handbag??

i can see how it could be sort of hitchcock inspired... the richness and brightness of the color is def. something you'd find in one of his (color) films. like the idea, but bad execution... from the picture, the top almost looks like a bamboo-ish handle and that twist lock reminds me of some of the bags gucci often does for cruise and spring/summer collections.

I really like the brown croc. It looks like there are two sizes - it's shorter than the green and red ones.

They come in 3 sizes I think that's the small one.

klow, I've seen the croc light blue (it's more light blue than taupe in person) bag IRL. GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!! Pictures don't do this bag any justice. It SO does not look like an office kind of bag...AT ALL!

I tried getting my name on the waitlist but the stores selling the Novak are taking names but not guaranteeing delivery because of the super limited no of bags sold.

I think the croc versions are nicer than the plain leather ones.
But I'll have to see the bag/more pics before I decided how i really feel about it

I'm not holding my breath that I am going to get a call anytime soon. I tried calling the McQueen stores in London & Milan and they were both non commital.

I was actually going to ask the wearer where she got her bag but she was on her cell phone the entire time.

Btw, the hardware in the taupe/blue version is kind of different from the pictures. It's tarnished and darker in person.

I love it, esp. the croc. Its very film noir. I can see it being carried by a femme fatal in an old 40s B detective film. But I personally love that era and style.
