Nude / Pale Lips

Drugstore gloss: Rimmel Eastendsnob

how healthy is it to wear concealer on lips? since it was not formulated for lips to begin with and you obviously "eat" a part of it

I love this look! Anyone have any tips to great one's? I love when they look the same colour as one's skin like beige.. but a bit water-y.

this thread need more pics!

Top it with gloss .... especially a sheer one, cheap ones gets the job done, New York Color.....

Great suggestions will try them out, I think I will do this look for summer, usually I like a frosty pink.

But I don't really wear fundation.. I wonder if it will look weird?

MAC C-Thru and Underage might be nice nude glosses

Wow, these are the exact two that I use!! Underage is more of a milky pale pale pink while C-Thru is a creamy pale beige - I still tend to use concealer or foundation under these though.

Chelsea Girls by Nars is a great lipgloss for a more wearable, less pasty look.

I'm curious, does anyone prefer a lipstick rather than a gloss for this look (or vice versa) ??

I've tried various glosses but I haven't tried any lipstick (they always seem to brown and not pale enough)

^ I do not pay as much attention to lipsticks as gloss or concealer, mainly because they are too brown; and with paler ones, they are just achievable with concealer..... I also kind find some gloss too sheer.

However, today I discovered a new trick, I use a skin illuminator (I used Revlon), dab it on and my lips are nude yet texturized! Viola

^ I used liquid makeup. Though I don't wear it on my face... ever... I love using it on my lips.

First, I exfoliate my lips. Then dab on Vaseline. Then put on the liquid makeup, which is a very light beige. Love it.

Chelsea Girls is actually a really nice nude lipgloss. It's a little bit pinkish, so it doesn't look too pasty. It has the right amount of gloss too.

As for lipstick, I was wondering that too...has anyone tried Belle De Jour by Nars?

Though my mouth waters at the mention of NARS nude lip gloss, I just can't pass up the cheaper alternative of liquid makeup/concealer. ;)

Chelsea Girls is also my go-to for nude lips. it's the only one i've found that actually works on me. it does have a bit of pink in it, which i think makes it more wearable for those of us who don't naturally look amazing with nude lips. i wear it with any kind of dramatic eye - either colorful, smoky, or cat eyed. i love it!

The brand Canmake has great lip concealer. I love it! It makes your lipstick/gloss color stand about a million times more especially with nude lips. =] I think it's a Japanese brand, so that's probably why I can only find it in Asia, so I have a couple sticks of it for backup :D

Nude Lips

I really like rocking the dramatic eye/nude lip look, but I’m having a hard time finding the right shade of “nude” for me. I have chocolate brown skin with dramatic yellow and gold undertones (I have a hard time with foundation because of the gold in my skin). I think a caramel colored lipstick or gloss would be stunning.

Every combo of nude pencil, lipstick, gloss I do either comes out too pink or beige. I want something with more brown, but not too brown.

How do you pull off the nude lip w/o the color looking too ashy?

Could you recommend any lip colors that resemble caramel more and less like ash?

Are you looking for something that's purely matte, or is a little shine okay?

I have more of a light caramel complexion, but I do have similar gold undertones. I sometimes use MAC's chestnut pencil, which is actually a pretty dark brown and then apply MAC Coconutty lipstick on top. Since the pencil is pretty dark, I apply and then blott it out so it looks lighter. Coconutty is more of a gold hue, but if it's dabbed on lightly with that pencil in can look almost natural. Especially with wear, it blends really well. The thing is, the lipstick does have a bit of a metallic shine. I'll look at some of my other colors and get back to you.
