Calling her a "fake socialite" implies that there is a "real socialite." And according to your explaination - because she "worked at a store... not even a designer boutique" - then she is not a "real socialite." Sorry she worked at a job that implies antithesis of "real."

If there are still "real" socialites then there aren't very many on the scene. Tinsley, Fabiola, Zani, Eleanor Y, etc wouldn't qualify. It would be the girls from old money scions: the Hearsts, etc.
