Oh boy...I guess I'm the only one who likes to use "some" photoshop. I guess
people don't like that in here. People can be quite critical about that kind
of stuff. That's why I won't post any of my pictures in here anymore. I guess
it's "un-cool" or something....

^ Oh, please continue to post your photographs here! I love seeing them, and you're definitely not the only one who likes using Photoshop. I too use it to enhance my photos. It's a great tool and, in your case, can help create beautiful images. I hope you'll reconsider your decision!

I for one do not use photoshop but i honestly believe that there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with using it. Photoshop is a way of making something already beautiful, more beautiful and as seanut said "enhancing" it. Photoshop is even used by professional photographers; please do not be closed minded about photo editing for it does not make you less talented! Zen is a wonderful photographer,btw & i hope she continues to post her work here

using photoshop (like contrast, levels, saturation, color correction etc.) is nothing else then a simulation of what you do in the dark room by hand.

photoshop is as other have said- a tool. In my opinion photo editing these days is just about as important as the photos themselves. A good photographer with lots of reference (meaning he/she knows where they're "going" with a photoshop treatment) uses photoshop to delve deeper into the image, its like we as photographers now have almost maximum control over our images- we are more so painters than photo- takers. plus its fun- and often my favorite part of being a professional is spending the time at my computer deciding what it is i want the audience to take away from the picture.

Newbie

Just got my 40d last week. So I'm still trying to learn how to use teh spankin' new toy.

I use photoshop with photos from my digital camera. I think its another tool to digital photography. Hey, making your photos wonderful in photoshop is a talent too! I get blown away by wonderful edited photos. I can do awesome editing as others. But it's something that I would like to learn. I don't like the feel of overly edited photo though. But to each of his own.

Film is another one. I don't do my own processing (I would like to learn this too), but I trust my local film processing 'shops' Processing is like the 'photoshop' of film photography. You can play with the chemicals and exposure or blah (I don't really know what I'm talking about, but you get it ) to get that desired effect.
