First book Outlander, from page 476 (digital edition, second part of chapter 25) Claire explains to Jamie where she comes from and Jamie leading her to the stones.

This weeks episode :(:cry::cry:

They're all such amazing actors though. Outstanding. Jamie's single tear was what finished me off :cry:

I remember Jamie Fraser when I saw the kilt in the Versus ad. I want to buy it. :smile:

Anyone knows if they're done filming in Prague already?

ugh! we have to wait till spring? but gotta say, that teaser doesn´t get me excited at all...

^For me the same on both accounts. Because I know the books I'm looking forward to some specific scenes and some specific persons.

Watched the last 2 episodes of season 1, Im so disgusted right now, i have planned to to read the books also, but i think i am finished with both now.

I didn't know the books at all and for a very long time I didn't want to watch the show, even though I usually love Starz productions like Spartacus or Black Sails :heart: :heart: , I thought this one would be too romantic. But when they got three Golden Globes nominations I decided to give it a go and I'm so happy I did.

I binge watched the whole season and even though some moments truly shocked me and left heartbroken I really loved it. The cast is amazing, Sam Heughan deserved recognitations too I think and as much as I loathe Black Randall I hope Tobias Menzies will get that Golden Globe because his performance is simply riveting.

I agree that the trailer doesn't look very optimistic, there's something different about the tone and the atmosphere. I don't know if it's because it will be set in France but there's something different which I can't really pin point at the moment. The costumes, and Caitrona, look fantastic though.

I admittedly stopped reading the first book when it got to those scenes. I was really disappointed because I loved the book up until that point.

A couple of my friends (who have read all 8 books) reassured me that nothing as bad in that particular way ever happens again, so I restarted the series. I haven't regretted it thus far!

Bad things happen in future books, but nothing quite that brutal and graphic.

I think that the repercussions of that event are handled pretty well in future books. It's not just there for shock value, it shapes the narrative and the character going forward. It plays an important role in a particular plot line of the second book (and I would imagine season 2 of the show) and the experience affects Jamie in various ways for years after.
