Pale / Fair Skin - What Are Your Fave Products?

^ i was never big on skirts or shorts but i didnt give a sh*t. if they not used to pale then they better learn to like it. thats always been my attitude about it anyways. i still strutted around in my bikini, blinding everyone with my *beautee* lol

when i did used to fake bake though i never just did only one spot because it will be too obvious. you gotta be prepared for when you have to wear different clothing, impromptu day at the pool or beach = disaster! if only your arms are tanned. i always did full body but never went too dark. i dont even know what the good formulas are anymore, its been years since ive fake baked. i dont like the smells of tanning lotions either! i dont have a high tolerance on fragrances, im very picky.

^I wear shorts and skirts without tights [when its warm enough that is!] Ive had a few nasty comments from random people on the streets but it doesnt really bother me, in fact I take it as a compliment!

If you dont want to use fake tan you could try a body foundation. MAC do a face and body foundation for about $30. You could also mix some regular foundation with body moisturizer as a cheaper alternative.

My friends and I were walking down the street in Melbourne on holiday one time, and a car of guys drove past and shouted out "ella bache fake tan, use it!" It was the single funniest moment of the trip... Not only did we get abused for being fair skinned, but the guys new what fake tan we should use

laisla, i cant think of getting rude comments from strangers yet but...my friends and coworkers give me enough sh*t lmbo! but they are only teasin'. i make fun of them plenty ;) its great that you can take it in stride like damn straight its a compliment! but it's weird that you would get that kind of a reaction in London, you guys dont get much sun there anyways, right? was it the oompa loompas? because i would throw oranges at them!

the mixing foundation and body moisturizer is a good idea but i wear a lot of light clothes and white shirts to work so that wouldnt go well for me lol

belowen, thats hilarious! im surprised they didnt offer you tips & tricks on fakebaking too since they seem to know so much!

I wear skirts and dresses almost exclusively in warm weather, and I like my white legs. It looks strange when girls have a pale body and face, and self-tanner on their legs. The funny thing is the only part of my body that tans is right on my feet, so by the end of the summer, I have weird tanlines from my various sandals, and white legs.

I'm from the Mediterranean, where most people sunbathe, or use self-tanner/bronzer in the summer, so I do get cute comments about my paleness. No one's ever been rude though. An old friend affectionately called me "You-glow-girl" because my skin seems to glow under the bright Southern sun.

B that's really funny! probably some metro's on a high..that's crazy though.. I don't know how it is in Melb but people in Sydney are a bit iffy on fake tans, no one wants to look orange, it's considered really tacky.

Anyway today I went to Mac tried the NC15 and it was too yellow for me. None of the Mac foundations really blew me away.. they came on too heavy and had yellow or pink understones.

i was lighter before, i wouldnt have matched any of the MAC concealers/foundations but then again when i was paler i had clear skin! i only used concealer for undereyes. i swear ever since i got that burn, my skin has never been the same. ive read before that some people are more sensitive to the sun where when they try to tan or they get a burn, it actually makes them break out...i think im one of them. its has cleared up a lot by now but still not like before! i miss the good ole days. less $ spent on makeup, less trial and error frustration, and less time getting ready in the morning which means more sleep! and dont forget less makeup spent on makeup removers for the skin makeup...

Tanning clears break-outs at first, because it dries the skin. But then our skin produces more oil to compensate, which leads to more break-outs. It's a viscious circle. Btw, nowadays many people, even those who aren't fair-skinned, burn rather than tan unless they take careful measures, because the sun is more intense due to pollution/global warming. This change is noticeable even in the short span of 15 years or so.

^ thats exactly what happened except i didnt have breakouts before! so its sad but accidental sunburns always suck either way. ruined my day then my entire summer cuz my skin did that peel, dry, oil, breakout cycle.

I know what you mean Kissablekea, i lived in Europe for a few months and my skin pretty much cleared itself of most of my freckles, and went as pale as i was in gosh, i don't remember when.. but back in Aust for a month or two and the sun is so strong EVEn with sunscreen that, i'm getting tiny freckles and big one on my arms ..in no time.

I have travelled a lot and apart from the South Pacific, i have not found a place that has the sun as strong as it is in Aust.

I'm not sure I understand that foundation... Does that mean the bottle contains all the different shades? Isn't that a waste if you're only using one?

nope, you can have the entire content of the bottle in the one shade that you prefer...just set your shade and youre done....you can change it to a different shade anytime too

I use Dainty Doll for my concealer (the lightest shade of it too lol) and blush it matches me perfectly and lasts a REALLY long time I'm pleased with it. The blush surprised me, a lot of other blushes I've used come off so fast

Could anyone recommend me a great mineral foundation that would suit pale skin (preferably with a pink undertone)?
I normally wear some just to cover spots or breakouts, and I find mineral powder looks most natural and doesn't make my skin worse.

^ the new dior stuff seems quite nice...
and i want the blue HD primer from MUFE :flower:

^^ Dior makes a mineral foundation!? Awesome! Thanks for that, I'm gonna check it out straight away.

I think I have that primer :) Is it like a pale minty blue? It's really good to tone down any red/pink in the skin I like it quite a bit.

Has anyone tried maybelline's mouse blushes? I bought pink frosting on a whim last week (the bottle and name were too cute) and it's actually really nice for paler skin. It gives a natural pale pink flush and it has really really fine shimmer in it that catches the light, very pretty.

gorgeous: I am not sure if we are thinking about the same thing (i have not i idea what a pale minty blue look like), but the shade is said to be number five, and it is said to be "adds radiance to fair skin/ reduces minor imperfections" according to sephora.

GWOD: if you are pale with a pink undertone, try 010 from dior nude (comes in both liquid and powder). should give you a pretty good result. MAC have nice mineral foundation too (in liquid and powder also) but their yellow tone is too stong for us, sometimes.

^ my mistake, I missed the HD part in your post :P I have their regular primer, the colour is in between the blue and the green HD primers. It's meant for pale skin.

Does anyone have recommendations for a foundation that isn't too heavy but gives your skin that dewy look? I don't need something with a lot of coverage just something to even me out but I don't want anything matte. I've been hearing good things about stila's tinted moisturizers and mac's new studio sculpt. Anybody try either of these? Or have any other suggestions?
