FleurDeLys, how long does it stay? I'd like to try it, because it looks not really good when your legs are so pale, that you can see the veins:ninja:

I really like the "Hawaiian Sun" powder by Jelly Pong Pong for just a little bronzed glow. It's very subtle (although the stuff itself looks like cacao in the box) and works on your face as well your body. I was reluctant at first because it looks so dark but it seems to work with any skin tone really and it also comes off easily, no rubbed off tan and long peelings.

currently using covergirl trublend powder in ivory using a lily lolo kabuki.

anyone considering buying lily lolo mineral powder...it DOES NOT photograph well, looks a white veil over the face.

diesanni, i never saw this brand/product!? where can i get it and how much is it? :flower: it looks so cute, i love the design of the lid B)

You can always check out their site www.jellypongpong.com. You can order from there as well or you can go to places like ASOS or beautyboxx. I really recommend their gift bags. You get a lot of stuff for around 10£ to 12£.

Yeah, tell me about it :D
It doesn't last very long of course, like a normal self tanning lotion I gues... just a few days. It starts fading when you stop applying it. I generally use it for about 3 or 4 days, and when I have the colour I want I stop. And when I notice it's faded, I reapply some, every two or 3 days or so... But it depends on skin tone of course on how tanned you want your legs to be. I usually just want a hint of colour, so that people do not get blinded when looking at my legs :P. I like it because it doesn't leave streaks like normal tanning lotion and because you can layer it on and choose the intensity you want. But it still smells a bit like tanning lotion, and it does leave some sort of film that you can feel on your legs.. But maybe that's just me, my friend uses the same product and she says she doesn't feel it at all..
Just like Mac's face and body, some people do not feel they're wearing it but I hate the humid feel of the foundation:rolleyes::D.
Hope I helped :flower:. But it's not expensive, so it's worth a try .

I have pale skin and freckles, but not cute freckles. My freckles look blotchy. Is there a great product to get rid of, or at least fade, the freckles?

Thank you.

My skin is very pale/fair, although my lashes and brows are a darker blonde.
I can't use foundations or powders because they tend to look too obvious, and so far I haven't really felt the urge to dabble with them......but I'm a stickler for eye make-up. (particularly Bobby B and Chanel)

I go for brown/chocolate mascara and liners, with emphasis only on the outer corners of my eyes, so as not to appear overdone. This opens and brightens my otherwise pale looking eyes (theyre a light blue colour). I also like to create a little upwards flick with the liner, too:smile:

I never apply mascara to the lower lids, it just makes me look ridiculous because my lashes are so thin and wispy there. A little pencil line from the outer edge only (not all across), then smudged to soften. Basically everything stands out a mile, so i have to be so careful not to go overboard.

I use nude/neutral, creamy eyeshadow only, but I admit that I need to experiment a little more here. And apart from a little concealer, that's about it, except for very occasional flirtations with red lipstick (a new arrival for me, and a whole new world!).

I always feel that there is an incredible lack of info with regards to paler complexions about cosmetics. Most of the 'how-to's' tend to involve darker toned, brunette (or dyed) models, with much more even complexions than my own.
My hair is a light, ash blonde, and although my skin is decent enough, nature blessed me with a certain transparency, especially around the eyes, which can look quite ethereal and attractive, but utterly dreadful if i get one hour's sleep too little. Blending tips for pale, rosier complexions would be such a bonus - if anyone can share a good source of info that would be wonderful!

On the plus side, I rarely have to invest in blush.....but I would highly recommend the Pixy line.

also, I was recently informed by a hair stylist that I have an ashen/cold complexion.
I didnt know whether to laugh or cry:shock:

Perhaps this means blue undertones?

^yep, except people usually said the term "cool-toned" instead.

blue undertones would be quite scary, heh! most people have yellow based skin of some variation. some have pink. these tend to be people with very fair skin. a lot of people with ginger hair have pink based skin. lily cole for example.

just googled and found that which is quite helpful.

Thanks both:flower:

I noticed how ridiculous that sounded straight after I'd posted it! I was thinking cooler tones, yes. I have asked countless store based 'beauty consultants' and got no joy whatsoever. The best advice I have received so far was from the Body Shop, but sadly not many of their products suit me, although I do love their liquid liner.

My complexion is ruddy to very pale, with some transparency, or so it seems, and not at all even in tone. I tend to suit silver as opposed to gold. This helps me to determine that I have a cooler complexion but I am still a bit puzzled about the undertones. I am guessing pink right now..

And thanks for the link Tifa.

i'm looking for a new concealer... has anyone tred Benefit erase paste??? is is good???

I am rather pale with a strawberry blond hair coloring (although lately everyones been asking if I dyed my hair- it looks so red!) and always look like I am in the perpetual state of blushing. I really like makeup products but as a college student I have neither the spend a lot on products or the time to put a lot of makeup on. Currently I am using bare essentials makeup line (I have sensitive skin on top of all this) but I would like to branch out and try some new things. Any suggestions my other fair skinned friends as too what is good for everyday makeup wear?

Topshop blush in Neon Rose

LOVE this. I was a bit frightened by the colour in the pan but it looks incredible on my cheeks.
It also looks lovely on lips but you need to wear lots of balm as its a cream to powder formula.

Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (in fair)
I needed a concealer to pop into my bag for touch ups and tried this on a whim. big surprise since its a really budget range (think you can only buy it in UK & Ireland) but this stuff is really, really good!
(picture obviously shows a darker shade!)

http://www.collection2000.co.uk/products/face/concealer/lasting-perfection-concealer/

It gets rid of any redness and dark circles and its transfer resistant. I havent needed to wear any foundation with it! yay!

There was an article in Ireland's 'Life' magazine today rating foundations for pale skin. I don't have a scanner but i'll type out some of it because I am oh so very bored at the moment.

BEST OVERALL
Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation SPF 15.
Bobbi Brown offers a fantastic selection of shades across all it's foundations and this new, semi-sheer, oil-free formulation is no exception, offering 16 different shades, four of which fall into the pale range. "I liked the finish of this foundation," said a panelist," and the colour was nicely neutral, unlike some other brands, which don't seem to take into account skin types that go nearly blue in winter."

BEST SHEER ALABASTER
Dr Haushcka Translucent Make-Up.
Almost a tinted moisturiser, but not quite. The pigment is sufficiently intense to provide coverage, but it's not too heavy. A nice choice for those who favour an un-made-up-look. "I don't like a full-foundation look," a panellist said, "but I like something to even out my skin and this was a great match for my pale skin, as a lot of more sheer products tend to be too warm-toned."

BEST PALE COVERAGE
Clarins Everlasting Foundation.
At first, this foundation goes on a bit mask-like, but it blends beautifully into either light or full coverage. Available in seven shades, three of which would suit seasonally pale skintones, it's a good option for full-foundation lovers who are wary of looking waxy in winter. "This is a really grown-up make-up, but, saying that, it's not at all heavy," one panellist said. "And I liked how there were nuances of nude in the pale shades and not just one idea of what pale means."

BEST NUDE GLOW
Landome Teint Miracle.
There is such a thing as glow without going golden, and this foundation is testimony to that. A new addition to the Lancome range, promising, and delivering, a glowy finish, which is not at all disco-ball sparkly. The three palest shades cover the snow-white, pink and yellow undertones that comprise the pale spectrum. "One of those lit-from-within products that actually delivers," said a panellist, "It was a revelation to me that you can play up your paleness and not look half-dead."

BEST FAIR FINISH
Clinique Superbalanced Makeup.
Boasting technology that both absorbs oil and moisturises, this make-up will not react with skin oils and turn a much darker shade than what's in the bottle, as is often the case with foundations. It's available in a broad choice of 17 shades. "The colour stayed true, my T-zone stayed matt for an impressive number of hours and I didn't look caked, even when I touched up at lunchtime," one panellist said. "I look polished, but not plastered in it. "

i've been wearing deep red lips a lot lately
with a clean face, very minimal cheek color and black liner / curled lashes + mascara

Garnier have just brought out a very fair version of their Anti-dark Circles 2-in-1 Tinted Eye Roll-On.

As a under eye concealer its flipping brilliant....maybe the best Ive tried!

^_^

thanks for that
I've been wearing Nars Sheer Glow in Siberia and it's been working great look like a porcelain doll, wonderful. Just sharing, also Dior Addict High Shine lipstick in Catwalk Mauve i find to be nice on my pale skin tone, it's berry but it's very natural pinky sort of colour, really nice for a polished look i think
