laisla, I agree- Benefit's Dandelion is really good! I've yet to try Georgia but I definitely will at some point.

I currently use MAC select moisture cover in NW 15. (Foundation in NC15.) I'm not too happy with it because it seems to give me a reverse-raccoon eye effect. (I now have white circles under my eyes.) I've tried touche éclat, Clinique, Benefit, and Lorac concealers but they are either too light or too peachy for me. Does anyone know of any good concealers for under eye circles? I think I need something a bit heavier, but am not sure what/where to look...

I use a Smashbox stick concealer under my eyes and it works really well. It's quite heavy which is nice because some things like Touche Eclat seem to be water based and I find they can make my skin look a bit dry. The smashbox concealer is yellow based which counteracts the blueness under my eyes quite well.

That orange thing happens to me too ... perhaps you have pink rather than yellow undertones as I do? It's so important to match the undertone. Some makeup counters in their vast ignorance :innocent: will sell a pink person a yellow foundation to 'counteract' the pink, even if the pink person specifically asks them not to. Your natural undertone does not need to be counteracted

so true, yellow based foundations make me jaundiced
the subtle pink based ones work for me.

my coworker who is golden wore a really pink foundation before, luckily she stopped so i didn't have to pull her aside.

Does anyone know if Bourjois foundations are pink toned or yellow toned?
I have the Healthy Mix one and it's perfect match for me but it looks a little pink while I always thought I had yellow undertones...
Also while we're on the subject does anyone know how to work out undertones? Lots of different places tell you different things and it gets confusing!

Bourjois usually do both pink and yellow based foundations. I think 51 Vanille Clair is supposed to be yellow based and 52 Vanille is pink based.
which one did you get?

I have neutral to yellow undertones, and I have the 52 Vanille and it is a bit too yellow for me :ermm:, so maybe it's the 51 that's pink-based?

I got 53 beige clair.

its really hard to tell based on their website guides.

bourjois.com

of the beige shades I guess 53 is the pink one and 54 is yellow

I forgot to say that I always understood that you could tell if you were cool (pink) or warm (yellow) toned by looking at the veins :smile:yuk:smile: on the inside of your wrist. if the veins look blue then you are cool and if they look more green then you are warm.
Not sure how accurate this is and it doesnt really account for those of us who are erm neutral (?)

sorry Im no help

you could always go to a makeup counter and ask them to match you. just pretend to be interested in their foundations.....

I suffer from redness and I use the 51 so that the yellow counteracts those tones in my skin. Absolutely love it. Okay, it's not perfect, but for a dewy foundation it does last a long time before it starts sliding off.

Ahh I see.
TBH the insides of my wrists look purple most of the time and then sometimes they look green/blue, it's weird!
I will probably end up going to a counter but wouldn't the shop lights be a little misleading

Also OT but do you post in off_thehighstreet?

I don't know if you're asking me, but no I don't. There isn't such a thing as a bourjois counter sadly, but I think you'd get away with popping a bit from a tester on your cheek and then going outside in the daylight to check. It's pretty cheap anyway, and personally I think its the best drugstore foundation i've ever used.

Nope I meant laisla, I had seen their previous icon in that community.

That's what I did and luckily it did match so I can't complain! But you say it's dewy, it's rather matte on me! Maybe we have different skin types?

My skin is oily, so yes, perhaps we do have different skin types. However, when I use the 10 hour sleep effect that apparently is meant to be dewy, it's very matte and cakey. It's odd.

How strange. In fact I was recommended the sleep effect one for its dewyness.

me? yeah, occasionally. hmmm think my name is "teclo" something.

Yeah it just you had the same icon, sorry if that came off as a bit stalker-ish
I'm grandamere over there btw.

is this water-proof?!

I don't know - I haven't cried or gone swimming with it on! However, I do use a dampened brush when applying it and it seems to blend the product quite nicely. It won't liquefy and stream down your face if it encounters water but it won't stay on entirely either would be my guess. :flower:
