does anyone know of any talc free pressed finishing powders that are light enough for ghostly skin?
the cheaper the better....[/poor student]

What kind of mascara do you all use? I find that black looks a little to harsh (I'm a very fair blonde) and brown kind of enhances the veins in my eyes which doesn't look all that pretty. I find that burgundy looks very nice with light eyes and skin and I also like gold or bronze colored mascara to color just the tips of my lashes to make them look longer (or actually make them look as long as they really are). Any other suggestions?

Brownish black is pretty and not too harsh. Eggplant is also a pretty color as well.

forgot to say thanks for the powder recs :flower:

just came across this little tip about making fair skin look radient and healthy without adding a tan or golden sheen:
All you need to do is mix whatever body moisturiser you like with a product like Benefit High Beam, MAC Strobe Cream, or Lauder Spotlight. Mix it to the intensity of sheen you want depending on event and time of day and apply it just like a moisturiser. The effect will be like you have polished your skin and those three products will be the right tone for your skin colouring.

Get your lashes tinted! I had my done for the first time a couple of years ago and I've never looked back. They really make a huge difference but look completely natural. I dont really wear mascara unless Im going out at night (I wear brown/black) so during the day I just curl my lashes and put either some vaseline or clear mascara on so they look glossy.

Hi! Does anyone know where I can find Chanel blanc universal de chanel? I cant seem to find any available.. Is it made under a different name now?

My legs are deathly pale... what are some tanning lotions that won't make me too dark and don't smell terrible?

All tanning lotions smell terrible unfortunately... but I love using a moisturizer with a bit of tanning stuff in it. It doesn't give you a tan right away but after a few applications it starts to show up. You can build it as much as you want. I use one by Dove. It exists in two versions, one for light and one for darker skin.

I go with very dark black (I'm ultra pale and blonde. Not platinum blonde more like honey blonde/strawberry blonde) but I like to highlight my green eyes a lot and I'm obsessed with having ultra long lashes. What I do is still use the super dark mascara but I use earthy shadow tones like a gold or bronze to make it look a little more toned down while still looking glam if that makes sense lol Colored mascaras just never did it for me because I find they don't make my lashes pop as much which, for me, is bad I like high impact lashes

Thanks for all the suggestions!
I tried dying my lashes once and didn't like it all, they just looked too dark and unnatural. Maybe I should try a softer color, though. I have a very long, narrow face and kind of big eyes with long lashes to begin with and I always find that I look rather clownish if I put even more emphasis on my eyes, therefore I'm not a fan of black mascara. Although it sure helps when they look all red and tired. I'v been using clear mascara lately, just to give them some shape and I think I'll stick to it for now. Doesn't give me panda eyes in the heat either.

Me too! :woot: But I think darker mascara helps to enhance long lashes and draw attention to our eyes. (Which is a good thing, since I have an insanely high forehead.)

I have already posted this, but Mac is finally relenting and releasing Studio Fix Fluid in NC10/NW10 and NC13/NW13. I literally cannot WAIT because I love the formula of that foundation, but it's just TOO dark for me. YAY!

I HAVE NOT SEEN YOU POST THAT ... OMG OMG OMG. lol, that shall be worth a try, worth the visit down to Frasers lol.

i can't believe this ... omg about time ... i'm way too excited right now lol.

Apparently they're being trialled right now, so I didn't get to see them, but the girl in the pro store was telling me they're AMAZING. I literally can't wait. FINALLY!

I got annoyed that she decided to wait till i'd spent money on the NC10 full coverage foundation to inform me of the news. Damn her. That foundation is TOO THICK but I was just so desperate for a colour that matched my skin. ARGH!

^ So is London another one of those places with no customer service? You'd be able to exchange it here ...

The problem is that its the pro store, so I have to go to carnaby street in central london if I want to, and they close really early and it takes an hour to even get served. It's infuriating! Its very very very thick, and a great color, but oily and THICK!

Thats a thought, I'll have to see. I think we're going to be waiting a while before we see those new shades. They've not even been announced to the press yet...

urgh ... failure. i hate HATE having to go to london to buy pale makeup lol. i hate MAC for this, it's like, yeah we'll make really great makeup but you won't be able to buy it online and good luck trying to get it anywhere else, we'll sell it to makeup artists and no one else ... i hate that. is that not the point of girls who love make up, they are their own little makeup artist, why should they not be more able to get the right stuff ...

i'm sorry i actually get genuinely upset about rubbish like this lol.
