-she really made George look HOT,on his own he was just a lil' bit sweet lookin'.

As you all probably know, Pattie was a great muse and love of both George Harrison and his best friend Eric Clapton- she inspired such great songs as "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight" and for the Beatles "Something".
Here is an interesting look at it all:

Patricia Anne "Pattie" Boyd (born 17 March 1944 in Taunton, Somerset, England), model and photographer, is best known as the wife of two famous rock musicians and the inspiration for several memorable rock love songs. After meeting on the set of A Hard Day's Night, Pattie married George Harrison in 1966, during the heyday of his group, The Beatles. Harrison's friend Eric Clapton, first of The Yardbirds, then of Cream, also fell in love with her. Pattie went on to divorce Harrison in 1977, and later marry Clapton in 1979. She eventually divorced Clapton as well, in 1988.

Pattie was a successful model during the 1960s and early 1970s hanging out with such as designers like Mary Quant and Ossie Clark. She also appeared several times in the covers of the best-known British magazines, including the UK version of Vogue.

She sang background vocals in many Beatles songs such as Yellow Submarine, All You Need Is Love and Birthday with Yoko Ono.

Pattie was the inspiration for one of George Harrison's most famous tunes, "Something", one of the few Beatles hits not written by fellow bandmates John Lennon and Paul McCartney; the song was called "the greatest love song ever written" by Frank Sinatra. However, Harrison himself later said he "had pictured Ray Charles singing it", and "did not really have anyone else in mind" when writing the song. Harrison also wrote For You Blue, I Need You, So Sad, and Think For Yourself — all said to be inspired by Boyd — but how many of these actually were is not known.

During Clapton's tenure in Derek and the Dominos, their only studio album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, was dedicated to his unrequited love for Pattie, which then consumed Clapton. Clapton's tortured passion for his best friend's wife produced one of his most famous songs, "Layla", a rock song that became a pop hit in two different decades, with two different versions. Clapton's desire for Pattie drove him to a heroin addiction, that forced him to go on a music hiatus for several years in the early 1970s. Once the two were "finally together", Clapton released a more sentimental hit, "Wonderful Tonight", for Pattie, as well as his tunes "Never Make You Cry" (from Behind the Sun) and "Pretty Girl" (from Money and Cigarettes.)

An exhibition of photographs taken by Boyd during her days with Harrison and Clapton opened at the San Francisco Art Exchange on Valentine's Day 2005, titled Through the Eyes of a Muse.

Pattie was not the only Boyd family member to inspire such fondness among musicians. Her younger sister Jenny Boyd (born Helen Mary Boyd, but nicknamed Jenny after one of Pattie's childhood dolls) caused her own rock-musician rivalry as the muse for Donovan's pop hit "Jennifer Juniper", while marrying Mick Fleetwood, founder of Fleetwood Mac in 1970.

Her youngest sister Paula, was also a model and dated such rock stars as Eric Clapton and Bobby Whitlock from Derek and the Dominos. John Lennon and Mick Jagger were rumoured to have had crushes on Pattie. She also dated Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood towards the end of 1973.

Patti Boyd, back in style
(Filed: 14/11/2005)

The celebrated Sixties model is back in front of the cameras - as the new face of Viyella. She talks to Hilary Alexander

Eyes shining, skin glowing and hair artfully tousled, Patti Boyd looks confident, healthy and happy. A former model, Sixties dolly-bird, and ex-wife of not one but two rock stars - the late George Harrison and Eric Clapton - Patti has long left the celebrity circuit behind. However, the British heritage brand Viyella has managed to persuade her to appear in front of the camera once again, as its new "face".

"Returning to modelling hadn't crossed my mind until Viyella invited me to front the winter campaign," she says. "These days, I'm much happier behind the camera."

Boyd, who has been taking photographs since the Sixties, has forged an enviable career as a photographer and, in the past year, has held major exhibitions in San Francisco and Rotterdam. She has snapped many of the major Sixties rock stars, but some of her most prized shots are from the Beatles' visit to the Maharishi in India in 1968, when she was married to Harrison.

"It really started as a hobby but, as time went on, I found I always had a camera with me. And then, after my divorce from Eric, I realised I had something I could do for myself as a career," says Boyd. "I started working for magazines [she is a contributing editor for Harpers & Queen], and then friends began asking me to do their portraits, or photograph their children; things just snowballed."

Now in her late fifties, Boyd keeps in shape by doing Pilates twice a week and powerwalking, either in the country or, when she's in London, around Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

"I'd say I'm quite happy with the way I look," she says. "There are times when I look in the mirror and think I'd love to have a tweak here and there. But lines show that you have had an enjoyable life. I tried Botox once, but the pain was absolutely excrutiating. I'm not tempted to try it again."
Viyella believes she embodies the brand's new slogan, "Fabulous at Every Age", a campaign that crowns a year of revamping and sales increases under the guidance of its managing director, Christine Lucas. The campaign is being celebrated with an exciting competition to find the next "face" of Viyella.

'Looking great is no longer about what age you are," says Lucas. "It's about creating your own personal style and attitude. Baby boomers like Patti, Susan Sarandon and Trudi Styler have redefinined the forties and fifties.

"It's a great market to design for, because these women are affluent, mostly professional, they like clothes, and they want to invest in good quality, stylish outfits."

Viyella's recent market research shows that the 50-plus female shopper outspends her younger counterparts significantly - spending, on average, £440 a month, compared with £378.

"So many brands feel they have to leave the mature customer, and I can't understand it - these women like to spend," says Lucas.

The new winter collection, which is designed to form the building blocks of a modern wardrobe, features pieces in tweed, velvet, houndstooth and sheepskin, relaxed tailoring, statement coats, and ultra-feminine skirt suits.

Key items include a luxurious, washable, fake-shearling jacket in tan or blonde, £399, a claret devoré velvet dress (as worn here by Patti), £139, and a cocoa cardigan with ribbon embroidery and pretty glass buttons, £69.

^ She looks good for her age! It's nice to see someone age gracefully.

I also think she looked good young, but best when her teeth didn't show  not trying to be mean, and in a way it did make her stand out with a bit of quirk, but i think she looked best with just a little smile on her (closed) lips.

She must also have a wonderful personality and charisma to inspire the love and the best songs of two such great musicians (who probably had hundreds of other beautiful women throwing themselves at them).

Great thread :flower: thanks for all the pics!

The last pics are great! Thanks!
I was looking for the second one for ages, but I didn't find it.
