I wouldn't call her one of the great beauties of Hollywood, but I would call her one of the most fascinating. She was married 4 times-her first hubby was a rich Virginia man, her 2nd may or may not have been Charlie Chaplin-to this day, no one is really sure if they were married. She then married Burgess Meredith and after him, the writer Erich Maria Remarque. Diego Rivera loved her and did a portrait of her-they were good friends. Paulette also had an affair with George Gershwin. Paulette was well read, loved art and was a collector of jewels long before Liz Taylor. She did have her enemies-the great Edith Head loathed her.

Simply classics

I'm reading a biography right now...very interesting woman! I fell in love when I saw Second Chorus with Fred Astaire- she could dance- too!

Very interesting indeed. I saw her in Modern Times, she was pretty good in it.
She was so elegant! Even in Modern Times, when she first met Chaplin's character!
