Pearl or Diamond earrings?

I Love Both and I have both. I mostly wear my diamonds though.

My mother told me that only trash wears diamonds during the day (other than your engagment ring) And my mother had a lot of class.

I remember getting a crystal Barbie for my 7th birthday and then loosing one of her “diamond” earrings on the playing field at school. I cried all day and for most of the evening too. To me, her look just was not complete anymore.

Well, my parents had told me something like that would happen if I took it to school. Didn’t you just hate when they were proved right all along?

I had a crystal barbie who lost one earring too, except I later found out that it hadn't been lost but a "friend" of mine actually stole it and flushed it down the toilet because she was jealous of me. I too, thought her look was uncomplete ,and I couldnt even play with her anymore because it upset me so much.

I do not think that only trash wears diamonds during the day..but to each his own I suppose..

It seems that we were both scarred by the same experience. To me, cyrstal Barbie will always be the best one to have. Never had the coach and all that though, and I never liked crystal Ken.

Thats really horrible of your "friend" to flush it down the toilet. Finding out that it went down the toilet almost adds insult to injury doesn't it?
Regards to the trash thing. I never totally agreed with mum on the that. I love sparkly things, but not the bling bling thing though.

I agree with you I never had anything except crystal barbie and never liked crystal ken either!! It did.. Her mom told us she was saying "Bye bye earrings" as they flushed. I was sad.

I love delicate diamonds and not too many. (that is the only kind I will own, My earrings are only 1/4Ct).. I agree with you again..I do not like huge overly flashy diamonds either .. as they are too much and can be scary

I liked SATC's Carrie's engagment ring from Aiden - the sqaure cut diamond on a silver band. I thought that was nice.

I wear my diamond studs most of the time (I sleep and shower with them in.) If I decide to wear my pearl necklace during the day, then the pearls go in the ears.

Night time is a whole different story. My earrings and other accesscories tend to be a bit more "dramatic".

Oh Diamonds most definitely. So full of sparkle! But every once and again, I change it up and wear pearls.

wow i've been tacky with diamond earrings for daytime too. ooops. LOL!(i read something about this recently in ettiquette articles...that only diamond eng./wed rings are okay before evening?

FWIW, i do think diamonds(esp old cuts) are most beautiful in the eve., it's the more romantic lighting for them.

Personally, I prefer diamond earrings, but nothing too overly flashy. Just simple nice-sized studs. I use those as my "simple everyday earrings" and my chandelier type earrings for night/special occasions. I never knew that diamonds in the day was bad lol

I like diamonds...pearls are nice too, but they are too delicate and hard to take care of.

I think it's pure nonsense that diamonds in the day is "trashy" (who makes up these kind of things?) and I prefer single stud diamond earrings over pearls any time. My grandmother has worn diamond earrings every night and day for as long as I've known her, I don't think it's "flashy" at all. I think it's discreete and beautiful.
