well, i do think she was in a mango store before.... in spain there are mango store in every city and village; and yeah, she is the biggest star in spain but she is big since she move to hollywood (like about 5 years ago) and before she just worked here and in some french movies and believe me: in europe (and spain) actors dont have the amazing salaries they have in USA... penelope never was that really elegant lady always very-well dress with high-end designers you know...

i was so afraid to see that this could oficially show to the world how not gifted some spanish people are in terms of fashion taste... AND THESE PICS JUST REINFORCE WHAT I THOUGHT!!

my expectations werent high (since i dont think Penelope has hit a single outfit besides her Oscar dress) but this is waaaaay worse than what i expected.
The worst thing about this, is that this will sell for sure...

i feel a bit ashamed of my own country now...i'll try to focus and keep my mind busy with s/ else... ummm... (balenciaga, balenciaga, balenciaga, balenciaga...)

^I totally get what you mean. I've never liked her style (not to mention her sister's), and this looks wrong.

I don't know if the collection will have better things, but I don't like what I've seen until now. If I do like something, which I doubt, like I said before I'll probably buy it, although I don't like much that it was created by Cruz sisters.

I also know this will sell, but I don't see it was a huge hit, at least in Spain, because the sisters are big not as much as people from abroad think.

OK, I didn't realize Mango was that old. I only got familiar with it maybe around 2001 and she was already a big star back than. It doesn't matter anyway, even if she was buying mango goods by truckload. I mean, I can shop in Dior it doesn't mean I can design for it.
Is her sister some kind of deisgner? Or she has nothing to do with fashion either?

^no, they are not desginers, her sister is a not really good actress who is trying to get in acting thx to her sister´s fame (that´s my opinion) she was also a flamenco dancer

they have already designed a collection for a Japanese company

for me they are not really interesting, and as borjacapella said I wasnt expected a lot, but they surprise me witht the collection, it´s better than I thought it would be but nothing different from what it´s on sale in Mango so probably they just show them some of their own pieces and they try to update them to the Mango´style... they didnt work hard!

the only piece I like where a pair of high-waisted jeans that I´ll probably buy

sad but true... same goes for perfumes....this is lots of random stuff, that u could find anywhere... but i love that ana bb is in the catalog... this collection as same as the last one, only for winter and a bit more less stylish...

When I first heard about this I was like oh no not again.. But Penelope or not, the some of the designs are actually cute and wearable. Something Mangoish definately.
They look like they would be made pretty well.

I went to the store on monday and got the catalog .. the collection is fine and they had both Millas and Cruz stuff ... its Mango ... they def have catered to their clientele

How random. And I am so sick of the sisters becoming famous. Ashlee Simpson, Ali Lohan, Monica Cruz?! enough is enough!

But Monica Cruz isn't really that famous and she's such a fittie - definitely in my top 10! I'm pleased that she's getting herself out there. Plus, she has earned herself some fame through doing some films and TV stuff but it's just all Spanish-language so it's not well known . . .

Also love that they've got Ana modelling for them - another beautiful girl who is definitely in my top 10! With the Cruz sisters and Ana B-B as provenance, I'm definitely gonna buy some crap from Mango for my next girlfriend

What's next? A sports line, modelled by Allison Stokke?
