Personal Style etc - general discussion

Ive been wearing a lot of checked shirts (oversized of course) with skinnies or tights with long tops that ive had made..

Think im finally going to switch to the maxi dress phase :innocent:

I'm too tired to even have a style right now  I usually just put on a cute dress, that way I don't have to make an outfit or anything..

OMG... Im an ironing freek too... I iron everything... I hate it cause it takes ages... but i'd never not... I hate the whole creased look... well I hate it on me... love it on others but im not cool enough to pull of grungy messy looks... think id be getting too old for that anyways!

few weeks a go i did iron first time in...about 10 years :ninja: one of my blouses and i freaking LOOOOOOVED it. i know there might be a real technique for ironing but i did it my own way *haha*.

i have became so lazy when it comes to dressing and i blame my job from it. i work at kindergarden and i just cannot wear anything facy there. ofcourse my style is not frumpy, it is just casual and cozy. like leggings and dresses with cute cardigans are my uniform. also (i know this sounds like huuuuuge fashion crime) i have been wearing black sweatpants (not those overly baggy, my sweatpants fits nicely) with some top or striped shirt and flats.
i [almost] never look frumpy, even when i am wearing sweatpants, my hair is clean, i have little bit make-up, nail polish is fixed.
now i am planning to shape up in this....but i actually dont even know what else to wear at work anymore...
i have allways had pretty casual style but at the moment i just dont know what to wear, everything seems so boring. even at free time i wear the same clothes than i wear at work.
i really need some jeans in my life again HAHAHAHAH

work changes style...thank god i am not some bussiness woman, i could not handle all those blazers!

After my looooong rambling ^
I discovered what I needed back to my life, things that I have not worn in ages...

SHORTS+BLACK TIGHTS+CUTE BLOUSE combination.
I allways add some cute little cardigan that I wont get cold.

How could I forget this?!?!?!
Actually once I wore that combination to death...but now again, I am in LOOOOVE.

Yesterday I did some serious shopping. I bought 4 pairs of shorts, 6 blouse/tops and tons of black opaque tights from h&m.
I feel like all my problems are solved now
:lol::lol:
Oh, and I bought perfect pair of jeans also that are little strechy so I can wear them at work.

me feel so happy happy happy

:magic:

^ oh i really love this outfit for fall! :flower: especially with long cardi and heels. it's really comfy, warm, but sexy & chic at the same time.

brilliant idea Jenna-maria! :flower:

i want to wear something like that too. i just got really great black shorts.

on another note:
after building up a good basic wardrobe last fall/winter, i'm trying to figure out, how not to buy way too many items i don't really need this winter. i started with writing a wishlist that i hope i can stick to.
and maybe allow me 5 impulse buys troughout winter.

what are your thoughts on this idea?

I just realized all this camel colour craziness has gotten me in a black mood. At least compared to how I normally dress. I'm really feeling the black ATM. This might be an interesting evolution

that's funny tine...

i find that i am a bit of a split style personality at the moment...
i really like all the navy, camel, etc...70's thing...
*i was about 7 or 8 the first time around and am happy that i get to basically dress how my mom did back then...
she was fab!

but- there is still that part of me that is a new york punk rocker...
:mowhawk:...

so...
i am buying flared jeans and a trench coat...
but also twisted black tops from vivienne westwood...
they are both so different...
i am trying to figure out how to rationalize it in my head...

just had a thought....
wouldn't it be funny to separate my closet like that...?!?
one side all ladylike chic...
and the other all edgy androgyny...
:p...

i think that would be fun actually...
i might get crazy and do it!>..
^_^...

***so glad i am not the only one wanting to iron!...
it's the shirt/blouse thing...they just need to be perfectly ironed to be fabulous!
and trousers MUST have a sharp crease!...

*of course- i will wait for this heatwave to pass before i get down to the serious business of ironing>>>

^The separation idea sounds like fun, and kind of interesting, do tell if you end up doing it ^_^

I had my 70's phase this summer, especially at the festivals I attended. I loved it. Earthy coloured shorts paired with mostly different thrifted blouses. Though I did try on an A-line knee-length denim skirt today in that true 70's denim colour. I can't get it out of my head, maybe it's a sign :ninja: :innocent:
Also, I´m still craving for a mid-calf length skirt in some interesting pattern :blush:

I can't seem to find a style I really identify with :( I really love androgynous clothing but my body is very soft and fleshy and the clothes bunch up or make me look more stocky than usual. There are certain pieces I love, but none of them in my closet coordinate. I usually always end up wearing jeans and a t-shirt. I want to become more adventerous but I don't have the money or saavy to create a stylish wardrobe!
Side thought: I really like a lot of the colors I am seeing in the fall collections.

update-
i rationalized the wardrobe thing by returning the vivienne westwood tops...
:innocent:...
...

and now i am finding myself completely obsessed with blue...
navy blue in particular...
navy and grey...
i am missing some navy coats in my closet...
:ermm:...

it's making me a little mental!...
...
