I hope this lasts longer than his stint at Ungaro ^_^

Breaking News: Dundas At Pucci
19 September 2008, 12:52PM

EMILIO PUCCI has this morning confirmed what has long since been rumoured: that Matthew Williamson will leave the label when his three year contract expires next month, to be replaced by former Emanuel Ungaro designer Peter Dundas.

After three years as Pucci's artistic director, Williamson is reportedly been keen to free up his time to spend building his burgeoning own label; as such, Dundas - who has had plenty of practice with the zizzy colour palettes for which Pucci is famed via stints at equally-flamboyant labels Christian Lacroix and Roberto Cavalli - will step into the breach as of October 1.

"Peter Dundas, who is one of the most promising designers of his generation, possesses a creative talent and personality that fit with Pucci's spirit and with its colourful and modern identity," Pucci said in a statement.

sounds like a good news.
I'm not a fan of Matthew.

i am a fan but i don't necessarily like what he's done in pucci so...good time for a change!

I really liked what he did at Ungaro. I am looking forward to this

Good, I am glad we are going to see something new at Pucci.
I like Matthew but he wasn't taking Pucci anywhere new and to me it just kinda fell off my radar. I am not familiar with his work at Ungaro but I am definitely looking forward to new point of view.

I deeply thought that Peter Dundas's dresses were slightly unflattering, but nonetheless Ungaro shouldn't have let him go so soon. Hopefully he learned his lesson.

Very interesting news. I like what he did at Ungaro as well so I guess I'm looking forward to what he will bring to us at Pucci.

Wasnt his work at Ungaro a lot more darker than what Pucci stands for? it's kind of a relief to hear he has worked for Lacroix and Cavalli first (nobody puts colour together like lacroix)... but i really liked what he was doing at Ungaro!!! :( (who is now at the helm of ungaro then?)
btw, isn't he responsible for the Revillon collections too?

who is now at the helm of ungaro then?

Well, they have Esteban Cortazar, but I hope he really gets better

I really need Pucci to be refreshed, so I'm very curious about Dundas's collections either!

I love Peter...he is gonna be fabulous at pucci, he really has the sense of luxury that the label needs...Williamson is just very casual and relaxed...Pucci is all about luxury
Good for him!

Call me crazy, but I'm not looking forward to this at all. For the most part I found what he did at Ungaro to be insanely tacky, even more so than Balmain, and that was him working with solid colors. He may have worked for Lacroix but he certainly didn't absorb any talent for coloration.

So the idea of him using Pucci prints that involve at least 5 different colors scares me to death.
