Has anybody here used his products? They're a tad expensive but brilliant, I absolutely love the Preen Cream.

From his website:

Recognised as the leading authority in hair health, Philip Kingsley has over 45 years of trichological experience. His name is known from film set to catwalk and amongst the professionals who only want the best.
Whether you require a clinical consultation and treatment or if you simply want the very best products for everyday hair care - with our expert knowledge and experience we can help you have beautiful, healthier hair.

So does anybody have experiences with these products? Good or bad, I'd love to hear some reviews. They're pretty underrated IMO. :flower:

I've tried a few & pretty much all positive...

Elasticizer is a great conditioning treatment - best used before you wash your hair. To me is more "calming" than super moisturising, though it does that as well. Just makes my hair super sleek & less fussy. Purchased this a couple of times.
Scalp Tonic was a real lifesaver! I live in a super hard water area and my scalp was very irritated because I wash my hair pretty much daily. Within one use there was an immediate difference and I continued to use it even when I didn't have irritation.
Waterproof Styling Froth, I think it's called? This was good and helped with frizziness ensuring my hair didn't puff up two minutes after I left the house. Bad sides, it smells a bit...fishy  Disappears quickly though! I didn't use it for a couple of months and when I tried it again it was quite sticky so I think it's something to be used continuously rather than sporadically.

marmoset, do you find the Preen Cream moisturising? I want something extra to use on the ends of my hair after styling.

I use the Preen Cream on the ends of my hair and it really is moisturising. The last time I washed my hair I didn't use it because I simply forgot but it really does make a noticeable difference, the ends of my hair do feel dryer because I didn't use it. It says for fine to medium hair but I have thick hair and I'd definitely recommend it. :flower:

Tips from Philip Kingsley

Philip Kingsley is hair royalty. He actually coined the term “bad hair day!” He’s the person to go to for advice on hair health.

What is “trichology”?
“The word ‘trichology’ is derived from the Greek ‘trichos’ meaning hair, and ‘ology’ is the study of. The profession goes a little further than that insofar that it includes scalp functions and all other metabolic functions that can affect the hair itself. There is an Institute of Trichologists (founded in 1902) which is the examining and governing body of registered and qualified trichologists. I am a past chairman of The Board and am now a Fellow of the Institute.”

How did you discover your trichology method?
“My ‘methods’, so to speak, have been gradually formed during my 50 years of experience and research. My clinic in London was established in 1960 (I have been in the same building in Mayfair since 1968). And my New York clinic was started in 1977. The combination of these two clinics, and my excellent staff and research team in both, have afforded me the luxury of unique insights into what effects hair, its behaviour, its health and its cosmetic abilities and appearance. The methods and product formulations I use to attain all this would depend on the individual’s hair and it’s requirements.”

What kinds of treatments should one undergo to improve hair health?
“Hair is protein so eating an adequate protein rich diet will help to strengthen the hair. My supplement PK4Hair is 100% protein and clinical use over more than 30 years have shown that gelatine which is a protein that is quickly absorbed for the hair follicles over a period of 4 months at 4 pills a day does help to produce stronger hair –PK4Hair-hence its name is pure soy protein containing all the necessary amino acids for this.”

Do you have any suggestions for hair treatments that can be done at home?
“Once a week, lie in your bath with a scalp mask applied all over the scalp (Philip Kingsley Scalp Mask) and a hair mask (Philip Kingsley Elasticizer) covering your hair. The relaxation will help your hair internally, and the warmth and steam of the bath will help penetration of the products. Try it for 15-20 minutes.”

What are your tips for healthier hair?

“The five top tips for this:

Shampoo and condition the hair DAILY. However, be sure to choose the correct products for your hair type i.e. Fine and Straight, Fine and Coloured, Medium Wavy, Coarse and Frizzy. Philip Kingsley’s products brochure or website give the simplest choices.

Use a Scalp Mask twice a week – a healthier scalp leads to healthier hair (Philip Kingsley has one).

Apply a deep remoisturizing pre-shampoo treatment conditioner such as Philip Kingsley multi-award winning Elasticizer, or, if very damaged and dry – Elasticizer Extreme.

Always use a protective styling aid when blowdrying – and do not over dry. Stop when the hair is just dry.

DO NOT brush the hair hard or pull too tightly – BE GENTLE at all times.”
