Picture Me: A Model's Diary (Documentary Film)

This sounds really interesting!
I wonder how the fashion industry is going to react to this film.

^Probably as they did with the death case of the brazilian model. Silence.

Oh, I'm sure we'll still get an ed by Terry Richardson every month starring a 17-year old.

Ouch! That's so ugly, but it borders on truth.

I have faith that things will get better for those in need. It will continue to take brave voices, a lot of legwork and elbow grease, even still.

The film seems to be kicking up some dirt. It's the wait-and-see period, as it rouses the festival circuits and reaches the broader media.

why do i have a sinking feeling that Terry Richardson might be one of those photographers making unwanted advances. :( those poor girls...

I simply do not understand why don't they want to tell those photographers' names, because they could really protect the other girls by announcing them! :judge:

lawsuits.. defamation.. even tough it might be true, you can bet lawsuits will be pouring on the film-makers if names were named

No doubts, but if that's the only way to protect younger girls I think they should do that, otherwise similar incidents will happen again and again and again... :ermm:

P.S. Actually, I'm wrong. Not the film-makers, but models themselfs should announce the names.

I don't think so.
Why not to work again?.. If you meant that the photographers wouldn't work with that girl, I'm sure not all of the photographers are 'sexual maniacs' and not all of them are interested in women, at least! :D And in case you meant the girl wouldn't get any job because her reputation will be ruined - I don't think so again, because if she never accepted such kind of offers I see no any problems with that :innocent:

P.S. The worst they can do is to keep silence, imo.

Karen Mulder made some accusations while she was a top model, and look what happened to her. Thrown in the looney bin by the agent she was accusing. It all sounds a bit far fetched, except the BBC taped the same agent bragging about his plans to assault teen models in a contest.

The model is far easier to replace than photographer, bookers and certainly clients. The rich and powerful will always prevail.

There is an interesting case in L.A. right now by an actress suing her agent and agency. She says she was "hip pocketed", which she claims is a common practice where pretty girls are accepted by agent who don't really try to get them jobs, just pass them around to their friends (she claims she was raped).

It would be extremely difficult for her to win this suit against the agency's lawyers, so I would only think that she is doing this to warn other girls.
