Pictures Of Your Magazine Collection

^ Fantastic!! By the time you're 30 you'll need a warehouse like Karl's!! :woot:

I have a question: Do you guys spend much time reading your magazines? I seem to spend so much time on the current month's deluge, I seldom get around to looking at the old ones, which I feel guilty about...

Wow, Pietrinn, i wonder what age did you start collecting magazine. 6 or 8 maybe??

:) Thank you all!

Rigida I started this collection in 2008, but I love fashion magazines since I was 6 years old when my Mom bought Vogue Italia, Vogue Paris and Marie Claire Italia (She had all the numbers of 1998-2006!) but...but one day She decided to throw them :(

So in August 2008 I decided to start my personal collection, I bought my first -"personal"- Vogue, Vogue Nippon September 2008 with Natasha Poly on the cover at the Airport of Malpensa, Milan.

Subsequently I bought all numbers of Vogue/Marieclaire/Elle Italia 2008, some Vogue Usa, Uk, Paris, Spain...Numéro...etc....

2009 was a brilliant year, I began to buy magazines on Ebay because I adore the 2005-2006-2007 Era, but very often the spedition to Italy is more expensive than the magazine! :D

Now with my personal money +some money that I receive from parents etc... I spend about 50 euros for month for my magazines, but It's my biggest passion so I'm happy to spend my money for this.

For being 14 that is one impressive collection. I wish I hadn't ripped up UK Vogue issues at that age. God knows what the pile would be like now.
I really should upload some photos of mine. But they are all over the place.. expect for two bookshelves I have from Ikea.

I wouldn't say I bought magazines to have a huge collection. I see them as a need and a want to have them. It's compulsive and beyond repair.

I'm agree with you: "I see them as a need and a want to have them. It's compulsive and beyond repair" this is totally true also for me.
However...also my bookshelf is from Ikea! (ahah Ikea's bookshelves are the best!) and this summer one of the shelf of my ex bookshelf had broken! a real collapse because the weight of the magazines was exaggerated!

Part of my collection. The organized and updated since I posted one a year ago

P i e t r i n n, you have a great collection. i envy you and you are only 14. in less than 10 years, you will have hundreds and maybe thousands of magazines if you continue at this rate. what was i doing at 14? i know, too dumb to collect magazines

Fantastic collection Pietrinn, truly one of the best I've seen, you definitely have some wonderful gems in there!

What a lovely improvement lakomka, love the crisp white of the magazines with the bookcase!

Yes, white bookcases are key...I also use all white ring binders for my ads and fashion show pictures...looks great- everything looks very professional that way! ^_^

Fantastic collection Pietrinn. You have some of the issues I want. J'adore

i like to collect mags but after years of collecting anything good/branded I can buy, I have take more look on that - Few days ago I bought Vogue US which only make me feel more about quality of this mag - more than 65-70 % are Ads - which somethimes are really piece of art but it is not a reason I buy mags. So i decided to focus more on intresting/worth magazines from now on and be more picky about it. So more V Magazine, ID etc. for me and less Vogue US, Korea or UK. :D

This thread is amaaaazing! It makes me so jealous. My collection is small but growing. Hee.

Great collections, guys! :)

^ Yes- I just wish the European Vogues weren't so ridiculous here in the States...Italy and France are around $200 a year for a subscription...way out of my rationalization range...(which is saying something...)

Yup, that's my point. I started my collection this year (I'm 18) and I've decided not to spend my money on issues that don't mean anything to me (like Vogue US, Elle, Glamour and magazines like that). Right now I only buy the best issues of magazines that have really good/iconic editorials (Vogue Paris, Vogue Italia, i-D, LOVE, Citizen K, VMAN etc) and also good content/text (Interview, for example).

So, my collection isn't huge. Basically 6 magazines. But they are REALLY good issues and for me that's what matters. :p
I can't wait to buy the next one! It'll be Vogue Italia (November 2010). ^_^

pietrinn: did you get the 2005 vogue italia issue when you were 9?! you're quite precocious for a boy :p

I want to stand my magazines up by my room is already cramped(I'm a creative director so their's clothes aplenty, and I sort of hold on to little things that evoke memories that I can build off of for a project) so they are stacked... I'll see if I can take a picture of them but I had this model I was working with and she needed to study posing so I allowed her into my "library". Well when she returned my magazines I noticed that my bookshelf which used to be entirely full had one shelf halfway full... and I subscribe to magazines meaning I should have every issue since the first one that I recieved(gluttonous I know), anyway she argued with me saying she returned them all (2 covers torn mind you) and now I'm stuck with incomplete collections... one day I shall go buy back issues

by the way can you BELIEVE that Elle FORGOT to send me my September issue this year and then when I called about it they go "well we'll just add on a month at the end". I don't want December of next year I want SEPTEMBER OF THIS YEAR! I was highly peeved.
