Pictures Of Your Magazine Collection

I'm afraid most of it is sealed up in plastic bags up in the attic right now... When I get my new place I'll buy some new bookcases and get them properly displayed! ;)

ammon, I want to stay at your house for a week so i can read your magazines. you really have an impressive collection and i desperately want all of your L'Official Homme China, Vogue China and GQ China since you have every issue.
Just a question, how did you get the Dec. issue of Vogue Germany so fast? I have to wait 4 months for foreign issues and they don't come with supplements which sucks.

This question is for all magazine lovers, if you store your magazine in plastic bags, what kind do you use? where can I buy them?

Thanks

^ 'Bags Unlimited' is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with, and they have everything!! ;)

I have a friend woring in Germany so they use their factory package help me get the latest copy. I use the normal palstic sheet with different size to hold the magazines. This sheet have one side with the sticker. It's not quite convinent if you want read them often but easy to keep them.I bought it in our country's netshop.

Went entirely through this thread up to now. WOW, I can fathom what I would of had if I had been keeping them together over the last many years. You guys rock with your collections!

Does anybody know if we can order back issues of magazines, dealing directly with the company? For exemple, Vogue Paris.

Thanks.

Could be, but when I've seen recent issues from other magazines they were really expensive....E Bay is the only answer...

Ah, that's too bad. You have to share pics once you got your new place and your collection is on full display!

^ Thanks, I will! I want to do one entire wall in big, white IKEA bookcases!! :shifty:

^ WOW what a nicely selected collection! It seems like you have picked all the wonderful and most memorable issues like all those you listed from september! And might I add, you take wonderful care into your collection as well ^_^

You guys are costing me a fortune!! Every time I stop by I end up at E Bay bidding on some more magazines!!
It's sort of a sideline, but when I was making decent money back when, I started collecting Chanel catalogs- there is at least one done for every collection, often several...but it became too expensive- they are often $25 +!! Does anyone collect catalogs?

^_^ I do not mean to be rude ...

Here is an update of my collection and its whereabouts.

As for good quality photos, you will not get, for I have nothing but magazines, no camera except for the web cam ... so the photos will suck.

I will have someone lend me a nice cam so I can take HQ of my room.

I now made something strange but interesting with a part of my collection ...

MAGAZINE FURNITURE! Made entirely of magazines ... 3 towers of vogue Paris, Uk, and Spain covered in bigger size magazines like i-D ...

I did this in levels meaning: I would place the vogues ... and when I reached i-D size level I would stop and place the face of the magazines I wanted to display (tape them down with crystal tape) then I would continue with the vogue until the next level was ready, place the next 4 covers I wanted to display tape them ... until I reached the 5 magazine levels ( this reaches from floor to ceiling) multiplied by the 4 magazine wide. It was fun. It is really strong, will not tumble and kill me while I sleep. Then on top of it all, MORE books. :woot:

Now I have MAGAZINE FURNITURE it is sooooooooooooo much fun. Talk about design... lol

Again pardon the quality I will take better quality soon.

Hope you guys like the update! ... it defeats the purpose of owning magazines really ... but I don't care ... I loved it since I really do not see them every day. it saves so much space ... ready for more magazines! I own like some 4,500 now ...

Wanting a coffee table soon ...

Ampop.

***** Of course, they are all individually wrapped in plastic bags. ;)

Imagine taking those pieces apart when you move. My god.

I've noticed that lots of people posting pictures lately have bags for them. Where's the best place to order them from? I know there's Bags Unlimited, but is there somewhere else?

^OMG Ampop i totally love your pictures of your collection !!! I really remind me of when i was still living with my mothers!! I wish i could see it in real live !!! KEEP COLLECTING !!!;)))

I need to orgazine my magazines better :(

always good to come here.
especially when you see Pedro organization and amPop's room evolution (haven't u moved, btw ?)

Pedro, how amazed that you broched your collection ...
* why don't you try some archivist job ?

i'm also amazed to notice how people use plastic bags.
never had. i think never will. it's true that i don't flip through my old issues very often and that a mint condition magazine is always better than a smoking room version. but every 2 or 3 months, I move them around so I can see what was good, what was not.
and i'm way toooo lazzzzy to take a magazine off his plastic, and then put it back.

that's why the brochure version is very good !
bravo Pedro.

* just thought it was yours, btw. idk if it's right or not.
