Playboy France April 2008 : Anna Arendshorst by Ben Hassett

has it always been this way, it's almost like a high fashoin spread the way they are shot.

No... and I wouldn't want to sully this forum by directly posting images of the covers from before (it's not the nudity that offends, it's the overall design), but here are links to some covers from 2005-6:

See I don't feel as though the debate is small boobs vs. big boobs - I think the thing is that Playboy France has a body aesthetic much in the same way the American version of Playboy does. Only that its an opposite aesthetic - the US version is large (usually fake) breasts, bleached blonde hair, etc. and the French version leans towards very slender women small breasted with a much more natural look. Either way is fine - whatever floats ones boat but I agree that it would be nice to see someone in French Playboy who is more curvaceous. I love the production values of this edition - I think its in general been stunning based on what I have seen but at the same time it couldn't hurt to see someone with a different shape as well. I don't have any problem with any of the women they've featured thus far - they've all been beautiful and the pictures have all been sexy. That said since the publication has become more "fashion" the women have bodies that were more used to seeing in a fashion context as opposed to the context of a mens magazine. I don't think its too much to ask to also see a bit more difference within the magazine.

The same argument could of course be made via US Playboy and its exclusion of women with smaller chests but honestly I think US Playboy is trashy as hell.

Stunning photos of a gorgeous woman with a wonderful body. Big rack or small boobs; both can be beautiful. :flower:

It's interesting how everyone has associated big boobs with being fake.

Personally, I find the glamourization of perky, 16 year old, perfect, A/B-cups just as shallow and far fetched as silicone breasts. Neither of which exemplify the average woman's breasts!

^^ i don't think everyone here thinks big racks are fake, rather, they're just comparing french to us playboy, where in the latter the big boobs are... fake.

even if french playboy isnt displaying rather saggy, less than round and perfect t*ts, keep in mind this is a men's magazine that is trying to portray the idealistic, what the reader doesn't really have, or has experienced seeing. at least the types of beauty appreciated is being expanded by french playboy.

No man is buying Playboy to see the average woman's breasts, he has real life for that.

And because most of the big breasts we see in the media everywhere around us are artificial, naturally we assume it's always the case now. I remember a decade or so ago, people like Pamela Anderson in Playboy were the only ones who had implants - now it's probably your neighbour as well. Breast implants are normalised beyond belief in comparison to how things were years ago, when you could assume that most nude models were 'natural'.

And it's one of life's compensations that smaller breasts do stay perkier for longer and look better, and long may that overlooked beauty be celebrated in Playboy.

we're focusing to much on breasts... I think that the real achivement of french playboy is the quality of the eds, not their politics on breasts. Big breasts, small breasts, that's secondary. If the photos aren't good, beautiful breasts won't help, at least that's what I think.

I like it that this redesigned magazine inspires us to have these debates, challenging assumptions and getting us thinking as well as looking.

Exactly .

Personally I think mutilating yourself and sticking foreign things in your body is far more barbaric than just flaunting what you have naturally. And as far as A/B size goes, almost all women I know are this size including myself, so I don't see it at all as an unrealistic portrayal.

I didn't even know there was a french version of Playboy. I prefer this so much more than the American version. Beautiful cover!

this looks way much more delicate and smarter. it's great to see someone adding some intelligence and touch of GOOD taste to sexuality
guy bourdin, isthatchu?

do men buy it or teenge guys or just women?
in america it would not sell to anybody. maybe fashion-concious women

^ mostly men

Of course it would never work in the US, the ideal of beauty is too different and a million other reasons.
