POP Spring/Summer 2010 : Abbey Lee Kershaw by Richard Prince

Got chance to have a look and I'm impressed at the dense content in the issue, though I have to laugh at the cover editorial - if there's anything I don't need in life, it's a pull-out poster of Abbey Lee.

^ It was said million times that it is out today in the UK, but there's not anyone yet who can scan it. I'm sure they'll do it asap.

I hope we see Jac in this magazine.

Allen Jones is the artist who originated the naked-girl-as-table in the late 60s, so every use of it since is referencing his work. There were three women in the original artwork, each acting as a separate piece of furniture, but it seems the table is the one which endures in the imagination.

Dasha is doing the right thing, love everything so far. She has a great eye for the great photography, context and art, and she mixes it perfectly.

Allen Jones + Devon :crush:
What a great story.. it's kind of reminiscent of W stories from many years back and it's also the kind of story I want to see in magazines.. something that at least attempts to marry two worlds in the art field or challenge the reader with a new angle.
Gah I can't wait to get my hands on this and revisit it the whole summer.

you know, i have to say, i'm feeling the whole abbey lee motorcycle thing - something about it is original - while still referencing, you know, trashy americana ...

after looking at that purple magazine unoriginal jesus on the cross featuring friggin Lindsay Lohan though, maybe anything would look original to me today

devon looks great. the editorial is really interesting. hope i can find this outside london soon

Not the best quality images, but I'm unwilling to scan the issue. It's one of those that's just going to end up with a broken spine if I do.
