Prada Menswear F/W 2022.23 Milan

I’m unconvinced. These proportions don’t work, they don’t work anywhere not at balenciaga and not here. They have a lot of faith in those onesies to put them at almost all looks.

since raf all shows have been very thin. That said. The more formal coats on the grey gentlemen are a very cool look.

I pray to god these shoulders don't catch on. First at D&G and now at Prada. No thank you! As for the rest of the collection; It's pure Raf Simons with a hint of Prada tacked on as an afterthought. The fur trim does not work, especially when it looks like it was added at the very last minute. Overall it's missing that quirk, it's very severe. I don't see this appealing to a long term Prada fan. It's too trendy.

LOL They’re ripping off Demna now.

Usually— even at its worst since Raf infested this brand, there was always something, a glove/leather jacket/coat, that was a saving grace that hinted that Miuccia hadn’t completely given up on her vision. Raf has now eradicated any signs of this brand’s former glory: It’s all about him now— down to the ugly footwear and flat color-palette. And the funniest thing is that he comes off absolutely ripping off Demna.

I can see Raf feeling more and more confident at Prada but wouldn't say it's a good thing. This collection is a good example of that. It's literally Raf Simons F/W 2020 collection with better resources and without gimmicky slogans. It comes from the same source of inspiration and feels rather derivative. What is actually interesting is that, despite the pieces being rather questionable and poorly fitted (gloves included), the styling got much more simplified. However, that's the only good aspect of this collection I can see here.

The music is the only thing I enjoy from this show. Oh and the show is uncomfortable to watch. Having all these actors struggling on the catwalk especially Jeff at the finale is such an awkward experience. Please leave the catwalk for the models.

The is nothing Prada about this collection. This is a Raf Simons mixed with Demna's Balenciaga silhouettes here and there. Instead of leading the way now Prada is just another house following the trends. You can be intellectualized all you want but where's the fun, where's the Miuccia in this?

Miuccia, this is not working. I rather have you do it solo or find someone that less serious (pretentious).

The Jurassic Park guy... WHY!?

Also did Raf get fillers..? he's got that special shine. Marc can be persuasive..

Really scanning back and forth on the collection to say something on it for a change but um.. it's nothing, right?

Ooof miss Raf had some work done! When will people realize he is a brand KILLER? The only hype is for 18 yo bros getting into fashion to say that copped some Raf for the TikTok game. That is the only relevancy here.

I feel like this is the first collection where there’s a total merging of the two aesthetics. The previous collections felt very Raf VS Miuccia and this one feels very Prada by Raf Simons.

The problem is that this is not very progressive. The collection is just JIL SANDER by RAF SIMONS menswear FW 2012 + Archive Raf Simons in the world of Prada. And the world of Prada in this case means a lot of gimmicks (the fur trims, the actors in the cast).

It’s impossible not to compare with FW12 menswear but that collection was historical. It was about Power. This one was maybe about space and everybody loves Jeff G. But the cast needed a different collection.

What really surprises me is the lack of real life propositions for men. A bit like Dolce & Gabbana, it looks like this collection was designed for IG. I think that the nylon jumpsuits can have some potential and some of the plain tailored clothes too but a lot of it feels very gimmicky and detached from real life and real Prada customers.

FW2012 menswear offered that tension of editorial and real life. It’s been 10 years and it’s still relevant.
I don’t think in 10 years, people will find this relevant or desirable…

It’s weird that as a Prada customer, RAF designs clothes I doubt he would wear. Miuccia is wearing a coat she designed 8 years ago!!!

I have heard through the grapevine a couple times that Raf really lovessss and admires Demna. Confirmed!

I thought it was kinda funny that diet prada didn't receive this well.

Also I am feeling kind of good and safe that they kicked me off their VIC list bc they are taking a nose dive and I'm not missing out on anything heh

Hideously bad. Raf is one of the biggest fakes in the industry. A total hack. Not an original or interesting idea in his entire being. A complete phony. His reference are exactly the same and have never evolved or expanded…it’s always the same music, the same graphics, the same David Lynch obsession, the same same same.

This is all gimmick dressed up as something serious. There’s not a single idea here that works or that anyone would ever want to wear.

Get rid of him. Fire him from fashion. We’ve all had enough.

For the first time in years, I did not even bother watching the show, a quick flick through the runway pics was (painful) enough.
I've lost any glint of hope on Prada by now and it hurts to confess - to myself, mainly - what a huge, colossal mistake it was to hire Raf. I mean, Prada ripping off Demna is a low point nobody would have envisaged even three or four years ago, when the menswear was everything but brilliant already.
At this point Mrs Prada should just quit - there's nothing of her former genius on display - at least keep some dignity and distance herself from the dreadful course her brand has taken.

I will say tho, for fake fur that looks like a pretty realistic Mongolian lamb!

what a joke this brand has become

Absolute trash. Glad I watched the video at 2x speed. Mish-mash of old Prada ideas here and there, pretentious Raf prints and catch phrases, all sprinkled on a background of Demna silhouettes. I guess management is seeing the Raf aesthetic isn't cutting it, now they're relying on/trying to capture another brand's hypebeast market. It's so pathetic and desperate, everything is just so achingly out of date, just like Raf's taste.

I for one am very interested how this is going to evolve. What's next if management is finding their antics aren't aligning with their 5B euro a year revenue goal? They're pretty much scraping the bottom of the barrel as far as antics are concerned. Another mass brand collaboration, or five? Tiktok runway and ad campaign models? Influencer-designed clothing and nylon bags? Just you wait, it's going to get way, waaaay worse once the Prada prince completely takes over.
