Prada Resort 2008

i think miucca's intention is to constantly "make" people reevaluate clothes and fashion and how things are to be worn, i do think there are definetely some stellar patterns and pieces here albeit the life span of these clothes is limited...

this is gorgeous in an unexpected way. always been a fan of those long skirts

Ii like this collection.
But i love the dress that she designed for Kate at The Costume Institute's Party Of The Year: Red Carpet more.

It is still within the realms of the Prada style: is it really vintage? Is it new? Is it bad taste or actually cool? Young or old, tart or matronly? These are modern questions we all ask ourselves and she distills it BETTER THAN ANYONE. The fabrics are always exquisite and the colors always researched. The draping is a new direction as well. It's hard to believe some people can continue to simply discredit her work when it is obviously influential year after year. Too much of a good thing I suspect.
One would be hard pressed to look ugly or out of place in any of this in reality (which is a novel frame of mind for many "fashion afficienados" it seems).

This was definitely unexpected, but I quite like it:heart:, the floral prints are great and I love the shoes, my favorite piece is the gold evening dress, someone will definitely wear that on the red carpet!:D

Hmm, I don´t really like floral prints. I think it looks kind of old fashioned. Though I like this dress:

The skirts are simply unflattering across the board. Just dowdy and badly cut. I don't like them one bit.

WOW,Another very strong, creative, and beautiful collection from Miuccia and its only resort :buzz:
She never dissapoints, this is in my opinion the best Resort collection i have seen so faar, love the prints, cuts and those shoes are perfect match for the clothes.A+

i dont like the big patterns, it is too many, esp when the model is not short or anything
but i love the torqouise polka dot dress! absolutely love it!.

very very sudden turn from her f/w masculine collection
the only things i like are the 40s slim dresses but without the prints

i get deja vu from looking at alot of these pieces, mainly because some of the 40s like dresses look like things i find at value village. and the 50s poodle skirts looks too heavy for my state of mind right now...such a bundle, even just looking at those skirts make me feel like a sinking ship.

but i know what's going to happen. some high fashion magazine like POP or something take the poodle skirts and make a fantastic editorial on it and all of a sudden these poodle skirts are popping up on the runway and i ll feel overwhelmed and they will grow on me and i ll like them.

wow... i really like this. i'm in love with the palm tree-print one-shoulder dress. the shoes could have been a tad sexier for such frumpy clothes but i never really am 100% satisfied with prada. then again, i think the model casting, hair and makeup really are a huge influence on how we're seeing the collection.

i really hope nobody attempts the gold dress on the red carpet... i don't really see anyone young enough knowing how to pull it off. i bet it will be HUGE for prom though in new york.

I have to say I do understand why so many people like the new PRADA thing, but you know what, I can't see where does all the excitement come from?! It is good, but good is not good enough. PRADA should be the top brand dictating the newest trends and even adjusting our mindsets about fashion and they give this?! PLEASE?!

And another thing... I just hate that they simply catch one detail that look interesting (for instance, shiny metal-looking material and color combination) and repeats it all over again. It looks as if a real designer created one nice thing and then a bunch of amateurs copied the thing with some horrific mistakes...

Sorry if I sound negative, but its just a bit of constructive criticism and critical thinking... :)

even if this is bad prada its the best resort/cruise collection this season; love the new direction
