Prada S/S 2009 by Steven Meisel

Viktoriya looks fierce in all shots but to me she looks the same way in every picture.

Katrin didn't get a chance to show what she can because Steven Meisel is too obsessed with her profile.

Anna Maria Jagodzinska is just looking pretty so far. I need to see more

Sigrid is obviously not allowed to look at the camera, still good posing.

Toni is just okay I must say, I don't think she stands out but I don't think she is the worst either because her movement and posing is good, it's just the face that does not always work like in the first posted picture where the girls have been only 4.

Giedre, don't kknow what to say about her. To me she is just there.

Ymre does a good job although she resembles Georgia Frost too much in some of the shots.

Nimue is working it. She is really fierce and that even if her look is far away from fierce, I think she does the best job here.

Overall I think none of the girls is doing anything special with their expressions except Nimue.

nothing sort of new but i like it. the balenciaga comparison is uncanny!

I just can't hardly wait to see the ads printed in magazine and seeing all the girls created as animated features like they made for Trembled Blossom and Fallen Shadow, I guess it's gonna be awesome.....if they really make it happen. :D

^I hope they will, for this collection it'd turn out fantastic! :woot:

ok I give up...I'll have to see the collection again because I didn't like it, but these shots are awesome and are making me like the clothes...

thanks for the last pic it keeps getting better.

I love the newest shoots...
How can I describe this ad campaign? Stunning, amazing, breathtaking.... ok! I had used all my words, then I just can say I love it, I love it and I love it!!!

A bigger version ;)

http://lexposure.net/campaigns/campaignista/

The ancient frieze inspiration is nearly undeniable for this campaign (Though it is far more evident in the larger group shots), and the concept provides the Prada spring collection with a graceful, celestial quality that wasn’t apparent in the dark, sinister, and absolutely nerve-wrecking ambiance of the runway show (I’m looking at you, Katie Fogarty and Yulia Kharlapanova). The composition’s complexity reminds me of Spring 2008, when we were faced with “multiple” images of Sasha Pivovarova that confused many to no end. Yet for this campaign, there is a strong sense of balance, as the simplicity of the backdrop seems to “purify” even the harshest details. I think perhaps it is a little too “whitewashed,” but when you compare it to the marble friezes of old, I guess it’s at least an understandable reference.
Like many other modeling industry followers, I was also nervous at the notion that Anna Maria Jagodzinska would not appear in the campaign despite previous reports. However, those fears can now be suppressed, as she is without doubt in this one. But is it truly wise to use models with nearly identical looks within such a stoic setting? I think yes, for many of us neglect the fact that campaigns, especially in these ambivalent economic times, should attempt to showcase the clothing as literally as possible. Through using a generic look for the human figures, the emphasis can be on the collection instead (A similar strategy as that of the Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Fall/Winter 2008 show). And as I am a fan of all the cast girls, I’m not going to complain that they’re each receiving some incredible exposure instead of being forced to step aside for a seasoned veteran.

thank you mariemaud

I love this campaign.. the first time I saw it in print. I was blown away

i dunno about everyone else, but I think these ads are soooo successful because their sexuality is completely for women and between women. It's like they are all basking in the glory of their own sexuality without the need for the male gaze.

which makes it soooo amazingly inspiring and powerful and iconic.

i love this!

I love the new shot, especially Sigrid's pose, even if she's not looking at the camera. Again
