Prada S/S 2023 Milan

I agree with seeing some Prada-ness for once although I am quite perturbed by how ill-fitting some of the dresses or pant suits look, not sure if it is intentional together with the unfinished slits on the skirts.

At least the mood is right and colors are pleasant but it is also because I have since revised my expectations for Prada from before.

It is definitely still far from the glory days of Miuccia Prada (where is that quirky librarian?) when she was at her best, but it is a ray of light from the darkest tunnel.

This, compared to previous seasons, is a decent collection. There are even a few glipses of greatness, but I don't know if that's because they're archival motifs and pieces, so I already have an emotional link to those.

Ever since Raf came to Prada, something is always off. I think this actually could have been a really good collection if they toned it down a bit. Raf always needs to pile up stuff up to the point when everything feels bloated – the proportions, the styling, the fitting. He probably thinks it's quirky, but it looks sloppy. Some looks on border on contemporary Marni, which is the saddest comparison ever.

I know the dual creative control looks good on paper, but I think it shouldn't have been Raf.

Who do you think I should have been? Personally, I'd say Dell'Acqua.

Yes, Dell'Acqua definately came to my mind. I always thought of N21 as a sort of gateway, youthful Prada.

I'd love to see Antonio Marras at the helm, too. I like his poetic style, and I think that kind of softness is what Prada has lacked for a while. Raf is so clinical and cold, almost soulless. And before that, the whole Wandeperre fiasco...

Obviously, Consuelo Castiglioni would thrive at Prada, in my opinion. She would never do it, I guess, but she would be fantastic for Prada menswear.

We are going somewhere but I don't know where and when we'll arrive.

Decent collection - I'd just leave silhouettes by Prada and edit out Raf's. Few beautiful coats, interesting small bags and that's a wrap, quite poor as for Prada imho.

Collection after collection I'm wondering how long will that collaboration last but my gut feeling tells me that no more than few seasons. They will try few more times and call it a day.

This was by any means bad. We were just spoiled by last season's collection, that's all.

Did Miuccia locked Raf in the closet? Don't let him out! I finally enjoyed a Prada show.
