Prada stockings

i am completely obsessed with these stockings! LOVE that 1920s, flappergirl vibe they add to almost any dress.
the SA at the hamburg, germany store told me that they'll be getting the black ones by mid-august. yay! must have them!!!

I think I may have found a good alternative in a grey silk thigh-high stocking. :ninja: Dunno how they would stay up though!

here you go a lovely picture of me legs:lol: if you want any detailed pics just ask!

they cost £4.99 and are one size and they are long enough to still achieve that 'baggy' look like the prada ones.

the resemblance is uncanny! Thank you :woot:

stella-mayfair, do you know how much € they are going to be? Is there a waitlist? I'm in Hamburg too and will have to check out the store there. I have the grey ones and I would love the black ones as well for fall.

hi velony! great you're in hh, too :-))
just phoned the shop again AND they told me they received the black stockings TODAY! and there's no list right now, so give them a ring! they have two versions, one in silk (80 euros) and the other in cashmere (120 euros).
the sa put a pair for me aside which i'll get tomorrow! aaaah!!! just cannot wait!!

HI Stella~ Congrat on getting your new prada stockings... And cashmere :woot: :woot: very tempting. Do you know if those new black ones are ribbed or non ribbed?

@ sanura:
thanks! i'm sososoooo happy! :-)
the silk pair's non ribbbed, but the cashmere is ribbed. must see them in person and then decide which pair is best...
i definitely loved the grey non ribbed stockings. what do you think, ribbed or non ribbbed?

Stella, thank you! I have the grey non-ribbed ones so I would like the black ribbed ones for a change. Actually I wanted the ribbed ones from the beginning but they were sold out everywhere. Cashmere sounds great. I will definitely have to check them out. Let me know what pair you are getting.

Thanks! Personally I like ribbed and cashmere sounds nice for fall. But I am also worry that the cashmere might be too hot to wear as stockings... But don't rule it out yet ^_^ please let us know which you like better after checking them out 2morrow:flower:

I wonder if they have the cashmere ones in the States...

I searched the thread but couldn´t find anything, does anyone know how long the prada stockings are? I know they are pretty long, but need a measurement! :flower:

here they are! ribbed silk perfection!

just came home from my stockings-mission at the prada shop - and i must say i now have TWO new fab things:
a pair of divinely soft, ultra luxuriant, semi sheer ribbed over the knee stockings in alluring midnight black
and
a heavy crush for the super cute male SA. oh my! what a hottie!
i'll spend a fortune at prada in the weeks to come...

BUT: here is what you all lust for. the stocking story!
i bought the silk version (which IS ribbed) and super soft and close to sheer.
here's the pic. please don't mind my legs :innocent:

if you want the real slouchy runway look i recommend the stockings for very thin legs only. they ARE long but an even slightly curvy and muscular leg (as in exercise-y, runner's leg) will just need the length, without giving enough slouch. i bought a size 4 since i am tall and my feet are a size 9.5 US, but still the stockings do not slouch much. they fit more like a pair of over the knee stockings.

the cashmere version for 120 euros, which i didn't buy, is absolutely gorgeous, too. the stockings are in a broader rib pattern, not just plain but the ribbing is kind of "flatly" looking. and SO SOFT! woooah! if you are contemplating a splurge on the softest socks in the world - go for these!

the SA hottie told me that the hamburg prada shop has stocked up on both versions in several sizes - so check them out girls, you'll love them!

@ kisa: i checked the measurement for you. they are 120 cm long.
:-)

That's so gorgeous!! And I think you made the right decision on picking the silk pair, looks fab with your heels. I think black is an easier color to work with shoes. My grey ones do not go with anything (shoe-wise) I own.

Congrats on your new stockings, Stella! They look fab! I know exactly what you mean about having curvy muscular legs because I've made the same experience and my legs look the same way so the stockings don't look as slouchy as on the runway models.
I'm currently out of town and won't get back for another two weeks so I hope they will still have some in stock. Or should I just call and ask them to hold a pair for me? Do you think they would keep it for that long?
My grey pair is also made of silk so I'm considering getting the cashmere ones. I wish I could see them right now.

Hahaha, I'm impatient and it's been about five days...if any of you asked for stockings on the phone how long did it take for them to receive them?

So I tried on the H&M ones, which made me glad I didnt buy the prada ones b/c it turns out I am too big in the thigh area to wear this type of thing. the elastic will squeeze and make your legs bulge out if you are not thin enough. I am not even close to being overweight, but I do have kind of muscular legs...I wouldnt call them skinny. So yeah, be skinny if you plan on wearing these. I have a pair of older navy blue ribbed stockings that are long enough to come to the top if the thigh, so I am gonna try slouching those if I can find them. and if that doesnt look good, then I give up on this look!

gorgeous, stella! I wish I had your legs :D

Velony, they usually only hold for a day, maybe two :( I remember I came back one time after having the SA hold a few pieces for me for two days, she gave me the dirtiest look when I only got 2 of the 3 pieces. It was susan at prada BH

thanks so much for the compliments, girls! guessgirl, you reallyreallly made my day! :D i think your legs are great, too, AND you found a fab way to wear the grey stockings (#102). wish i had the pink sandals!!! i went hunting for them on ebay but whenever i find a pair it's a tiny size 7 or they cost a fortune

@ sanura: i agree that grey is a bit tricky to work with. how about teaming them up with a pair of colourful heels, as in #102, or just let them "peek" out of a pair of long boots?

@ velony: they might put them on hold for two days i think.
but who knows... given that the hamburg citizen's fashion sense tends to be quite conservative – maybe they still have them when you come back. i wish you luck ;)

Yeah, I guess I will just have to wait and hope they will still have them when I get back. There is still a chance because HH is not NY where they would be sold out in a minute.
By the way, I've also been looking for the magenta x-strap sandals on ebay but just couldn't find them (or at least not in my size). They look great with the grey stockings.
