I am 18 years old, I have mild to moderate acne on my cheeks and temples, and get this, I already have very slight wrinkling around my eyes and upper cheeks!!! I figure it's damage from over-cleansing, over-using medicated, chemical washes/astringents, not moisturizing properly etc... I've learned a few things. My skin is a lot more sensitive than I thought, and even though it's acne prone, it's not oily at all, and stripping my face of all its natural moisture is bad-bad-bad.

SO other than wearing sunblock everyday, what are some tools that can help me prevent further (maybe even undo? :innocent: ) the wrinkly skin damage I already have? Is it smart to use anti-aging and wrinkle-fighting products geared toward older women?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you sooooo much!!!

I'm having similar problems with severe undereye wrinkles as well as many on my forehead. I went on an intense face care regiment in order to get my lifelong struggle with acne won but I had no problems before the cleaning. However, if I don't clean I will break out really badly. I'm trying to go more often without washing and so far it's decent.

And I'm ready to get a job for the sole purpose of buying things like Stri-Vectin.

Wear a hat and sunglasses outside during the day. It can be a very chic look.

There are prescription acne treatments that not only control acne but also may reverse some signs of premature aging. See your doctor.

Over-the-counter products containing retinol may help.

Exfoliation helps keep the skin looking fresh, but if you are particularly concerned about scarring left over from the acne, or even very fine wrinkles, you might talk to a dermatologist about dermabrasion. It's usually a fairly minor procedure where the top layers of your skin are treated with a special mild abrasive to smooth them out. I'm considering having it done on some pretty bad acne scarring on my back.

try aveeno oatmeal soap. sometimes all the harsh chemicals and irritants will make you break out even more. unless your skin is super oily, wash w/soap only at night (since this is when you would need good cleansing) and in the morning just wash w/water.

also, use bare escentual i.d. mineral makeup instead of liquid foundation. it covers well but does not aggrevate the problem more. you skin should improve using this product.

use eyecream...it sounds like your skin is too dry. people w/oily skin usually wrinkle less IMO. as well as sun damage will give you premature wrinkling since it's the sun gives you wrinkes and not age.

hope your skin improves :flower:

Most of skincare brands should have a anti-aging range aimed at younger ppl who want to prevent and protect. I use Dior's eye-cream which is pretty good. You might wanna pick up one/two products from these ranges to supplement your daily skincare routine.

You should definetely get yourself a very good beautician. They should be able to consult you on your problem and suggest the best treatment for your skin.

Getting advise from friends is a bit tricky as many skins react differently to the same products... Some skins may be cured by a certain brand and others may react badly.

I personally swear by Guinot products and treatments...

I'm very worried about getting wrinkles (I'm almost 29) so I have monthly treatments to keep my skin properly hydrated and protected.

Recently, I find that I'd rather spend on skin treatments and creams rather than on fashion items (for me this is a first... I used to go for 3 H&M tops rather than an eye cream... the truth is that the eye cream is more necessary... for if your skin looks bad, no matter how good your outifit is it can never be satisfactorily accessorised with bad skin...) :flower:

Hi Guys - don't stress too much over the under eye wrinkles. Their appearance is definitely aggravated by over cleansing and drying masques and scrubs used to cleanse oily and acnegenic skin. Investing in a good eye cream, wearing sunglasses in strong sunlight and sunscreen daily will prevent them getting worse. By simply hydrating the area with a light eye-cream you will see a great improvement. I wouldn't invest as yet in products like Strivectin-SD unless your skin is super dry as this cream is very heavy and could cause break outs and puffy under eye bags.

Don't worry too much I have had wrinkles under my eyes from my late teens - I too have slightly acnegenic and very sensitive skin and now I am 32 they haven't deepened too much or worsened significantly. I have regular Sonolight facials too.

sigh i know i'm gonna get wrinkles on my forehead from raising my eyebrows too much - i swear i can see them forming
