Puff Sleeves S/S 06

The puff sleeves are gorgeous. Very ladylike. I really like this trend. :)

I myself am a bit torn on this look. On the one hand, I like the understated deflated poof sleeves with a tiny bit of volume on top, or Boudicca's extreme version of the look. But overall it's a bit too sweet and naive for my taste.....

Maybe it'll grow on me.

i like it with the neogoth edge...
that keeps it from being too 'twee'...

**hee hee...i learned a new word...:p

 soft !
puff sleeves are cute !
i've always liked puff sleeves . . . but only when the slv is almost a cap sleeve . .
it must be a v.short sleeve . .
otherwise . . . i think it can look a bit frumpy

twee ( twē ) adj. Chiefly British. Overly precious or nice. [Alteration of tweet ,
baby-talk alteration of SWEET.

I notice this trend continues from last season ... I remember Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen showed it, don't remember who else.

I'm trying to remember the edgy I think NY collection that did this really well, off the shoulder ...

Still can't find it ... maybe it was London ...

This trend excites me. Mostly because I have wide shoulders, and the nice thing about puffed sleeve blouses is that I can buy the size to fit my torso, and my rangey shoulders can stick out into the sleevehead unnoticed and have plenty of freedom of motion!

Also, I am in the midst of making an 1890s bicycling costume (bloomers, spats, tam o' shanter hat, and a cute little pointed-waist jacket with HUGE leg-o-mutton sleeves) and I am seriously considering to wear this jacket with modern trousers or a skirt after Halloween, because it is incredibly cute. It could almost be considered to be in fashion if the puffed-sleeve trend actually catches on!

oh..i can't wait for this trend to hit australia..im getting in to it now.. :P

must agree that the etro dress is gorgeous. Course I am partial to blue^_^

As long as they aren't attached to peasant tops.:p Generally I like exaggerated shapes/silhouettes, I'd even welcome a resurgence of the shoulder-pad... but that's a different thread entirely...

I recently bought a Diane Von Furstenburg trench, and it had puffy sleeves...I like the whole concept, but trust me, it looks so funny when they are way too big for your shoulders.. =( I got a size 2, but it still looks big on me, I need to alter it
