I agree. To me, this is Rania trying to hard to blend in with celebrities when she is a Queen which is Royalty.

i believe it's the other way round, events for women and taking a stand for women is something she does all over the world for the UN. she's a spokeswoman and ambassador for women/children if celebrities attend of course they want to be pictured with one of the world's most powerful and influential woman and of course she's also royalty so that would be a nice picture for their photo albums to tell their kids and grandkids.![]()
None of the European Royal Houses would. Only Belgium. The rest are very sober.I agree.
I don't want to veer too much into politics but I find truly obscene how she lives the celebrity jet-set lifestyle while the situation in the country she is supposed to be representing is absolutely appalling.
Neither the Windsors nor the Spanish Royal Family would ever dream of such extravagance and they live in rich countries.
As for her style, it's expensive and slick, and suitable for her position. Nothing more, nothing less.
At least she's doing something! The rest of the Royal Houses sit on their ****s and spend our hard earned money doing nothing at all. Is that better?None of the European Royal Houses would. Only Belgium. The rest are very sober.

celebrities who fly all over the world just to be seen on the red carpet/fashion shows/shops do it for themselves, rania travels for the sole purpose of helping others (unless she's on holiday but who doesn't need that every year?).What I and dazzling85 were getting at was not so much who she was rubbing shoulders with, but the effect of who she rubs shoulders with on her fashion sense. The green dress was a terrible fashion choice, but to her it might've seemed fashion forward keeping her company in mind.

I can see how you fail to see what it is she is doing. Firstly, I think you either have to be there or at least look into the matter. Her job isn't just getting Jordan running - she is an ambassador for the entire Middle East. No one else has taken this task. She is the one debating Islam, poverty, women's rights, all the prejudices she has faced...she is not just a socialite, she and her husband are responsible for an entire country! And she is the only one doing it. And about the finances...she really can't buy so many clothes that she ruins the entire country. She's no Farah Diba.^Just saw your post, ForChicSake. I am afraid you completely missed my point.
I personally fails to see how attending one glamorous party after another (Met Gala, 'charity' galas, etc.), doing photo shoot with Hello magazine and other gossip rags at least twice a year, vacationing with Bono in the South of France, etc is doing any difference or raising any profile aside from her own.
On that basis, any socialite is 'making a difference' just by living the high life.
(...)
Is she a great, selfless humanitarian?
Well, only if you chose to believe the hype.
