R.I.P. Actor Brad Renfro

This is all OUTRAGEOUS.

I am outraged at pharmaceutical companies making drugs that are in fact harmful instead of promoting natural alternatives, I am outraged at TMZ for posting videos of Heath's body being removed, I am outraged at myself for pressing play, I am outraged that Brad is now buried and done, I am outraged that this week has been a freakshow, I am outraged at 2008. I could go on.

RIP Actor Brad Renfro Dies

Oh.My.GOD.

The CRUSH of my youth. Apt Pupil, Tom & Huck, Sleepers, The Client, Telling Lies in America.... I watched them all. I FORCED all my schoolmates to watch Sleepers. Like everyone in my whole year.
But you could see the difference in Ghost World and Bully. It wasn't the same Brad anymore.

I feel shaken.

same here too SiennaInLondon...I was having a crush on Brad Renfro when I was in junior high...it was just like yesterday when I watched Telling Lies in America when Brad's character have a fling with Christa Flockhart's character, too bad because Brad really can act...RIP Brad Renfro...

i forgot to mention...isn't Brad Renfro was in a music video? don't know the singer is...

Healthy alternatives - you mean like those pretty flowers that grow aplenty in Afghanistan. They're quite natural, you know.

my friends and me were all crazy about him...we were using his movie quotes constantly...its so sad...like Heath, he was a great great actor, so much potential...but just not made for 'Hollywood' :(

well me too...
everyone is fake and those who arent, are wrecks because they cant stand it either but have to somehow handle it...

:(

It's been a crazy week with these two deaths...I find it really sad how little attention (ok, I know that's not a measure of anything much, just expressing this lingering feeling I have) was paid to Brad's death and achievements and at the same time it's comforting that his loved ones didn't have to endure the circus that has been erected around Ledger's death.

Renfro was on a par with Ledger, acting wise...it's a shame that he wasn't as widely appreciated.

Wonder what the rest of 2008 will reveal

I think Sienna was on an all over rant and referring there to Heath Ledger and the legal sleeping pills.

I find it particularly sad how Brad was written off as a junkie in most of the articles about him, before and after his death. Apparently his half-sister said that he died of an aneurysm having taken sleeping pills after drinking...regardless, no one knows how either Brad or Heath really died, and we might never know because the families might want to keep the truth under wraps...I know I would.

I'm just so tired of the assumptions that random people (like those 'experts' that are wheeled out for interviews and articles) keep making...we should remember that when people make assumptions about us personally, they too are often wrong. The truth is sometimes wildly opposite to what is suspected or rumoured.

no matter if he was a junkie or not...its still sad...and it doesnt make it 'less tragic'
ppl have problems...some can deal with them and some dont...doesnt make them bad if they cant

ambien doesn't do this....not alone. Not unless taken in massive amounts. Their deaths are very very sad.

^ Oh iluvJeisa why read beyond what we are told by the police and the families involved in these two deaths? Let's wait for the autopsies and believe what is released. You may be cleverer medically than all of us but I don't think it is nice to condemn. Because I can't help but read the implications in what you are saying. We KNOW Brad had these problems, what does it matter if it was or not the thing that tipped him over the edge on the morning of January 15th? I happen to think it was not. I happen to think that the cocktail of pills accidentally killed Heath. I do accept that that video is odd (the one you and I discussed on the Heath thread) but it could be a million and one things, not the one thing you are implying. It is kind of not adhering to the concept 'innocent until proven guilty' . And you work in pharmaceuticals am I right? I seem to remember having a discussion with you about it? I just happen to be wholly against many of the big business practices of the industry. I think the pharmaceutical and food industries work together very nicely to make a profit at the expense of humanity. And that does not mean I am saying that rolling around in nettles is the answer to everyone's problems. And it does not mean that i am saying that people with cancer should skip out of hospital and go on a yogic retreat. I am sure you realised that when you tried to make it seem like I was saying that.

I sympathise with your intentions Anna. However, I DO think that people who make bad choice after bad choice, for no apparent reason, and flaunt it are bad people. I do however agree that bringing it up at a time of death is inhuman. With regards to Brad, if you look at his background, there are a reasons aplenty why he fell into bad habits. It is a pretty sad childhood in a climate without the kind of education and intellectual pursuits many of us take for granted. And those bad habits aside, he was by all accounts a really good guy. He wasn't a 'junkie' as far as I can tell, be he was a user, there is no denying that. He would have been more suseptible to OD. Junkie's are experts at that crap. And he was making excellent progress at getting rid of those habits. Till whatever happened happened.

If I have gone beyond the realms of what is ok on TFS, moderators are welcome to edit.

So cute Anna! We used to quote him too! lol! I loved Michael Sullivan best but Todd Bowden and Mark Sway and Huck played their parts!
