the word is that the toxicology report is complete but will most likely be released by the police department tomorrow 2/6/08...

(according to the report) the "rumor" is that, he did not die of a natural cause. which only means one thing ... :ninja:

Has the autopsy report come back yet?

^ That's not true... Some rumors are that he was sick, and the combination of being sick and taking any sort of sleeping pill could have been fatal.

Ok well I was just saying that it might not just mean one thing... I guess we won't know for sure until the report is released.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Actor Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs that included painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication, the New York City medical examiner said Wednesday.

"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," medical examiner's spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a news release.

The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is another name for ibuprofen.

Is there any reason he would have been on OxyContin?....
I thought that was hardcore, for things like pain from cancer.

this has been abused by so many people. you don't have to be in pain to take it... that is if you can obtain it illegally (meaning with or without RX)

Heath also took Hydrocodone is another name for the better-known Vicodin.

*vicodine is a strong narcotic. also widely abused.

did they release the toxicology report now?
the fact that it's accidental makes it harder for everyone to accept his death

I don't know, I think suicide would have been worse. That would have meant it was intentional, which they wouldn't have said anyways. You can always count on the standard "accidental overdose." PR spinners needs to retire "suffering from exhaustion" too.

"Hydrocodone is another name for ibuprofen"

Huh? I didn't think they put ibuprofen in Hydrocodone. They do in Vicoprofen. I don't know if I buy this...

*formal way of defining "it is not suicide."

*accidental overdose: abusing sustances for recreational usage (an addiction) without the intent of death.

bottomline: He was a brilliant actor with an addiction to substance.

I always say this: " the most brilliant are the most destructive"

Er, yeah, I got that:blink:. I was referring to the sad state Hollywood is in with dealing with drugs. Even if he had committed suicide, I'm 99.9% percent sure they would have said it was an accidental overdose. Not that I believe he killed himself, but I do believe he was abusing drugs. I guess I'm jaded after working in the business for so long. They cover so much up, and it just enables their behavior.

Wow he was on a lot of meds. The Xanax and Valium, which do the same thing, should have been enough in most people to cause heavy sedation. Its too bad he still needed the sleeping meds to get to sleep. But its no wonder he OD'd and died looking at that drug cocktail.
