^I have to agree 100% with that, its just seemed like a continuation of last winter only more dull. Very dissapointing , cause i thought the spring show was lovely

^^ While your points are valid, RL Collection is not done for art's sake. He makes reallly nothing from these clothes- they are very low volume and the sales barely cover the cost. They are marketing tools to get the people into his stores to buy the high margin basics and to get his name in newspapers and magazines....If he started doing Dior and Galliano type of cutting edge things, they would work against their real function... While some of us would like to see more pop in some of his designs, the runway clothes are obviously doing their job for the company, especially since his business and sales have never been stronger! :flower:

For women, Collection is second to Black Label in sales actually.

I like the wearability of these clothes.

While many collections do seem very artistic, they also present looks that would be ludicrous in the street.

All these looks are something I could easily see worn by real people

first of all love love love this collection. the dresses were my favorite! i would buy the coat that anja was wearing

here are HQs from celebritycity

Baby, It's Cold Out, But Lauren Is Hot

By GREG MORAGO
Hartford-COURANT STAFF WRITER

February 12 2007

NEW YORK -- The bitter cold cut into so many beautifully hydrated faces; the unforgiving winds lashed at piles of fur and cashmere. Still, you couldn't find a complainer. That's because we were outside the Ralph Lauren fashion show, the choicest invitation on the final day of Fashion Week.

Nobody, especially Lauren's most devoted customers and dearest fans, was about to let something like a 10-degree-below-zero wind-chill factor keep one from seeing the Fall 2007 collection.

Inside, everything was warm and cozy. And once the show started, it was obvious that even more fur and cashmere are in order for the next frosty season.

Lauren showed cashmere tweed coats, some of which were fitted in the torso and flared at the hips, some cropped, some with a swinging volume. Suede, too, interested the designer, and he used only the most supple clove-colored leather for jackets, skirts and even a full-length gown that must have felt like butter. The palette was mostly chocolate, black and eye-popping gold thrown in for good measure.

Perhaps Lauren had the ballet in mind when he designed this new collection. His models' styles looked like what well-heeled ballerinas would wear when they weren't on stage: a lean bodice giving way to full tutu-like folds. The silhouette looked wonderful, but perhaps only on bodies that recognize the rigors of Pilates and the discipline of the barre.

For evening, Lauren showed a stunning black silk satin organza gown that had seams of ruffles running down the lean back. It's a winter dress that must weigh only ounces and could never be worn out in the cold.

But when you look this hot, who's going to mind the ice on your ankles?

i love this collection, especially the halter turtle neck dresses and the knit dresses over turtle necks.

i don't like the fact that it's so much like last season,
but the gold vest and gown(not together, to avoid confusion) on natasha was exciting.

Can someone please tell me about how many months there are in between a runway show and when those clothes actually hit stores? Thank you!!

I really think this is very nice for Ralph Lauren. Not a lot should be expected from him, and this works for his customers, still, there's a different feel that will attract a different clientele that's not used to shop at RL.

Call it dull, but it will sell.

I agree- though it could be described as dull, I also think it's somehow more stylish than his usual offerings

Ralph Lauren-Hairstylists

Hey guys,
First off, I would like to sincerely apologize if this is not in the right section. With that said, I was wondering if anyone knew any of the hairstylists responisble for styling the many models(male or female) featured on the Ralph Lauren website, runway, and marketing. Thanks in advance!
