Verizon has ended its partnership with hip-hop star Akon after he simulated the r*pe of a 15-year-old girl on stage at a show in Trinidad, FOX News has confirmed.

The girl thought she had won a dance contest, but instead got a simulated r*pe, which was caught on video.

"This week the partnership ended," Verizon said in a statement sent to FOX News. "We have music services on our cellphone service and we were promoting him as one of the artists. The other part of the sponsorship was the Gwen Stefani tour, of which he was an opening act. We are no longer sponsoring the tour."

Patrick Manning, the prime minister of Trinidad, called for a formal investigation of the explicit April 12 performance at Trinidad's Club Zen, which has since been closed by authorities, according to WorldNet Daily.

"I have taken very careful notice of this matter and the owner of Zen owes it to the public to take responsibility," Manning said. "I will be interfacing with Zen because that kind of thing should never be allowed to happen in this country."

Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds said Akon should be prosecuted.

The girl, Danah Alleyne, is the daughter of Flaming World Ministry pastor David Alleyne. WorldNet Daily reported that she apologized for going on stage with the Senegalese-American Akon, saying she regrets attending the concert.

The teen said she was permitted into the club despite being underage, and was part of what was characterized as an impromptu dance competition announced by the singer. A trip to Africa was the prize. But after Danah "won" the contest, Akon announced the Africa prize was actually him.

"I got carried away, I started to dance as well, but I never thought it was going to be like that," Danah Alleyne told the Trinidad Express. "I was shocked. My head was hitting the floor.

Other officials in Trinidad have called for Akon to be banned from further public performances on the island.

The video has been pulled from the popular video site YouTube, though copies of it can be found on many other Internet sites.

Akon has served jail time for armed robbery and drug sales but still has appeared as a guest performer on "American Idol" and received corporate support from companies like Verizon.

Wow...He just reeks creepiness. His stupid pointless songs, everything about him. I could never take this clown seriously. Poor girl. What was she doing there? What kind of parents lets their child enter underage parties? Parents letting the media raise their children. Sad day for a young woman.

The youtube members don't sound too sympathetic.

But then, youtube comments make me fear for the intelligence of humanity.

And this is another example why I'm in such disdain of the rap and hip pop community.

Well I'm not sure, but kids today do weird things. She probably lied she was going somewhere else and not to that concert. You never know.

But that video is just degrading.

that video is so gross
OT but the anchor in the youtube video is oddly funny

Why don't celebs think before they act, i just don't get it.

and that girl shouldn't been there in the first place

I agree with everything you said and I particularly cannot stress enough the latter portion.

Sadly, this story doesn't surprise me.

He does that every concert. I don't agree with what he did but the 'dance contest' she was getting into wasn't anything innocent either.

why is it called r*pe? because she's underage? or was he simulating actually r*ping her?
not defending him..

I'd call that humping, not r*ping. Either way, it's not very entertaining. But since I think no rap crap is entertaining... that's not saying much. :ninja:

I could only watch the first 30 seconds of the video. The only thing I can say is, "WHAT THE !"

I am seeing Gwen Stefani in concert on Saturday and he is supposed to open for her. I really hope he gets kicked off the tour because I won't be able to watch him.

I think it is way out of bounds to be using the word "r*pe" here IT is in very bad taste and showed a serious lack of judgement but I doubt the girl was in danger Didn't they do something gross like that to Tara Reid too? It's nasty and all but it's awful to start throwing the word r*pe around

I am proud of Verizon. Akon is disguisting! He said he and his father both "have as many wives as they can afford". His record company told him to keep that quiet. Now this.
