Designers Reignited the Red Dress for Spring

NEW YORK, December 16 – In the handbook of seduction, few tools rank with the consistency of the red dress. Along with plunging necklines and garter belts, it delivers a very specific message—and, considering the numerous songs and movies devoted to scarlet (or scarlet-clad) women, there’s an eager and receptive audience. This spring, designers added plenty to the lexicon with variations ranging from sun-soaked tomato to moody ruby-red.....

.. and for those who didn't think so.

:ninja: ooops, looks like you were right ingi, its just that for me red is not the main fresh colour for ss04, those examples you've posted are real interesting :flower:

I know, Lena, I thought the same too. :flower: Since red was hot for Fall I didn't quite notice it for Spring until I was seeing a lot of red dresses posted here at FS. ;)

Since when has red been out of style? To me, red is a classic colour like black or navy that you wear if you want stand out a bit. I never understood how certain colours can be in for one season and out another. I mean, they're colours... you either like the colour or you don't.

I guess for this spring the emphasis is more on a bright strawberry red than the usually burgundy or bluish reds. I love wearing red, but I hope I don't see everyone else wearing it just because it's in this season.

I think when I posted I didn't mean red was a trend for this season, I just showed it was strong for S/S '04.

Personally I tend to avoid red meat (as in meat that is actually bright scarlet red)...

Red is my Colour.

I loved all the dresses on that page, give me the dresses by Carolina Herrera, Andrew Gn and Narcisco, i'll never get tired of them! :P  .
